The Alpha and The thief

In need of an explanation

DANTE'S POV

I swear WIll's messages to me were loud enough for anyone close by to hear them, he had been mind linking me for almost an hour now and I was beginning to panic as I waited for him and Olivia to arrive. I couldn't understand why he was panicking but he kept repeating one name in his mind links and that name was Raul's name.

Raul...

Raul was an alpha of a rogue pack and word on the streets was that after he had tried to overthrow his former Alpha he had managed to get some of the wolves to take his side and leave the pack with him. The wolves that he had left his former pack with were the wolves that now made up his new pack. Raul and I had first crossed paths when I was still with my first mate Tanya. He had tried to make a move on her without knowing that she was my mate but after I warned him to stay away from her he had stayed away much to Tanya's dismay. I swear the woman wanted any wolf beside me it was like she hated me.

Raul and I had always tried to keep away from each other's paths but it seemed that our paths always crossed. it was like we were being pulled together by fate or by some inexplicable supernatural force but I hated it because I couldn't stand Raul. He was so full of himself and I hated the type of business that he was into, I hated human trafficking but Raul thought that humans had no rights and they were merchandise at his disposal to help him get rich and acquire more power.

A few years after Tanya left something was stolen from me and everyone else in the pack believed that Tanya had taken it with her out of spite but I knew deep inside that she hadn't. I suspected Raul to be the one responsible for the missing scepter that my father had passed on to me when I was crowned Alpha but wherever I raised my suspicions Will accused me of trying to protect Tanya but I hated her and I had no reason to ever protect her.

So now here I was crossing paths with him again and the question on my mind was how he and Olivia knew each other, and how well they knew each other. Olivia had obviously met a lot of shady characters just as anyone in her line of work would but I would have never expected her to know Raul.

I decided that the best thing for me to do was ask Will what Olivia had told him about Raul before I confronted her and asked her how she knew him or what business she had with him and god forbid that Raul was some type of bruised ex that refused to get the message.

"Will, what the f**k? Do you know that I now have a headache from all the messages you have been sending to me?" I asked him the moment he walked into my office ignoring the fact that he looked pissed himself

"What the f**k happened out there? How does a simple shopping trip turn into so much drama?" I bombarded him with more questions

"Raul happened, it turns out that Olivia and Raul know each other," he said as he threw himself on a chair opposite me

"And so what?" I asked him, I had already figured out that Raul and Olivia knew each other from the mind links that he had been sending me about Raul, and what I wanted to know now was why Will thought it was such a big deal.

"And so Raul told me to warn you to say away from her because she belongs to him," he said and I laughed out loud. Who the hell did Raul think he is to warn me to stay away from anyone let alone my own mate?

"He told you to warn me?" I asked and WIll nodded

"How do they know each other?" I asked after he nodded, I needed to understand the authority that Raul thought he had to warn me I needed to understand and be sure that he wasn't some kind of disgruntled ex.

"Raul says that Olivia owes him some money and he seemed to think that because of that money he has some kind of claim over her but Olivia didn't really tell me how they know each other in fact she didn't seem interested in even talking about him," he said and I could feel my anger getting out of control

"Well did you tell him we can settle whatever Olivia owes him, I mean no matter how much it is I will pay it just to get him out of our lives? I really don't like that guy" I said

"Do you think I didn't tell him we are willing to give him whatever he thinks Olivia owes him?" he asked

"What did he say when you made that offer?" I asked Will wishing I had taken Olivia shopping in place of Will

"he just laughed and walked away, you should have seen the smug look on his face like he knew something that I didn't know," he said

"Did Olivia tell you anything about the money that Raul claimed she owes him?" I asked Will ignoring his flaring anger

"Nope," he said

"Well then maybe she will tell me," I said as I literally stormed out of my office heading to Olivia's room, she had a lot of explaining to do

"Please don't be too harsh on her, in fact, why don't you let me just go and talk to her?" he said but his pleas were falling on deaf ears because I wanted to know what business my mate had with a hooligan like Raul, of all the men that Olivia could be affiliated with it just had to be Raul my deadliest opponent and enemy.
