Ace placed his coffee mug on the table as he waited for the boys to step into their meeting room.
Greyson placed the files one by one. Zeke is the first person who entered the room.
"Hello," Zeke said waving his hand.
"Good morning," Ace replied.
"Good morning," Greyson replied.
Zeke took the right seat of Ace. Daman, Myles and Brooks entered the room.
"Good morning."
"Good morning."
"Good morning."
"Good morning guys," Ace said.
"Stop pushing me," Logan said as Rhett laughed.
"It's not pushing, I just placed my hand on your shoulder," Rhett replied.
Greyson wandered to his seat and took the left seat of Ace.
"Need to see the files," Grant said to Kayden.
Kayden nodded his head, "okay, I will send my report and files."
"Send it in PDF format. I will take the printouts," Grant said.
Ace looked at everyone. "Where is Carl?" Ace asked.
"In the bathroom. He will be here," Logan said and Carl entered the room.
Ace gaze went to the door as Carl entered the room.
"Take ya seat," Grant said.
Carl wandered over to where Rhett sat. Carl took his seat and looked at the file before him.
"Open the file, I have divided you all into two groups," Ace said opening the file.
"Two groups?" Logan asked.
"Yes, team Alakananda and team Bhagirathi," Ace said.
"What is our company name?" Ace asked standing up from his seat.
"Team A&B," Kayden said.
"Yes, it's Team A&B because we have two teams."
"Team Alakananda consists of Greyson Alonso, Brooks Harris, Carl Martin, Daman Cooper and Kayden Baker. Greyson is the captain of team Alakananda," Ace said looking at the screen.
"Team Bhagirathi consists of Grant Wright, Logan Hall, Zeke Clarke, Myles Allen and Rhett Carter. Grant is the captain of team Bhagirathi."
Everyone nodded their heads in happiness. Everyone is happy with the decision.
"When team Alakananda is playing the tournament, team Bhagirathi rests. When team Bhagirathi is playing, team Alakananda will be resting," Ace spoke with his eyes going around the boys.
"The chance of participating in the tournaments depends on your practice report."
"The file before you is the legal documents. You all are now signed eSports gamers and keep your legal documents safely," Ace said as he watched the boy's eyes getting widen.
"Our legal documents?" Myles asked in surprise.
Ace smiled nodding his head, "you guys are signed by me. Your registration has been done, keep the documents safely."
"But doesn't the company keeps our legal documents and contract?" Grant asked.
Ace shook his head, "you are not slaves here. You have all the right to speak up in the company. The company needs you as much as you all need the company. Your documents will stay with you," Ace explained.
Grant nodded his head. He picked his file and went through the documents.
Greyson flipped the page as he went through the documents.
"Greyson will be taking care of Team Alakananda and Grant will be taking care of Team Bhagirathi. All your training reports will be checked by the captains."
"The captains will check their teammates' daily reports. They will guide them, from now on you will play with your team," Ace said seriously.
"We only have one month for the tournament. In these 31 days, you have to improve your team strategy and practice. This month is precious, don't stress yourself at the same time don't be so relaxed. Balance both," Ace added looking at everyone.
"Yes, practice right now is very important," Brooks said.
"Everyone will stay and practice till they finish the daily target," Ace said pulling his chair back as he took his seat.
"Greyson will send the daily target list. He will share your numbers and I will update you on your gameboard," Ace said writing down the ratio on his journal.
"I have already decided your positions. I will let you know the decisions," Ace said opening the new file.
"Greyson and Brooks will play the back. Carl will play the middle. Daman and Kayden will play the front," Ace explained.
"Okay."
"Yes."
"Yeah."
"Noted right?" Ace asked.
"Yes."
"Grant and Logan will play the front. Zeke will play the middle. Myles and Rhett will play them back," Ace said.
"Everyone got it?"
"Yes, brother Ace," Carl said.
Everyone agreed to what Ace said. "Pass the water bottle," Daman asked Zeke.
Zeke took the bottle that is near Ace and handed it to Daman.
"What we are going to do now?" Kayden asked.
"Have your breakfast, go to the training room and practice," Ace said standing up.
"You going somewhere?" Grayson asked Ace.
Ace nodded his head, "have to meet someone. Will be back by evening. Take care of them and practice have to be done."
"Will take care of that, don't worry."
Ace nodded his head before leaving the room. He went to his floor to take a shower.
He left his keys, files and phone on the table as he walked towards the washroom.
He pulled his t-shirt, started untieing his joggers. He removed his clothes, threw them in the basket.
Turning on the shower he stood under it as thoughts started playing in his mind.
"Is he ready to face the gaming world and people?"
"Do people remember me?"
"What I'm going to do when they start asking questions..."
Ace let the cold water hit his head as the water trickled down his head and body.
He placed his hands on the wall as he looked down. He doesn't want the boys to lose hope.
This is their chance to show the eSports world what they are. He promised himself that he is going to stand with them no matter what.
Pushing his wet locks back, he turned off the shower and picked the shampoo bottle.
When he is done with the shower, he wandered into his closet to pick his clothes.
"Greyson, I can't see the report," Kayden said.
Greyson pulled himself up from Zeke's table and went to Kayden's seat.
He leaned down, took the hold of the mouse and went through the screen.
He opened the daily training hours report and showed it to Kayden.
"I will pin this to the screen. You can see it all the time," Greyson said.
"Great, thank you Greyson," Kayden said taking the mouse from Greyson.
Grant looked at Logan's screen. "Logan to your left, Myles is the path clear?" Grant asked.
"Yes, one is hiding in the bushes. Zeke be careful, they are using the forest path," Rhett said.
Zeke looked at the bushes, he saw the enemy hiding in the bushes.
Zeke cleared the Melees attacking him before going towards the other side.
"Wait two minutes, I will push from behind. We will attack the one hiding in the bushes," Rhett said.
"Sure, let me kill these Melees till then," Zeke said sure.
Ace looked at his reflection as he wore the black jacket. He pushed back his hair with his fingertips.
He turned, picked his car keys, phone and wallet from the table before going towards the entrance.
The whole floor is empty without him. He stepped out of the house, unlocked the car.
He is going to meet Dr Degeorgia who shifted to New York.
He drove the car looking at the trees as he pass by. Everything feels so weird, it's been six years that he hasn't been to New York.
He got habituated to India and now New York is a foreign land for him.
He looked at the phone screen for location road. Their house is a bit away from New York.
They are staying in a peaceful community. There is not much noise and the boys need to be away from the city so that they can concentrate on their practice and upcoming tournaments.
Ace reached the cafe where he is going to meet Dr Degeorgia. He parked the car, unbuckled his seat belt.
He picked his phone, opened the door and stepped out of the car. His eyes wandered around as he saw many youngsters waiting in the parking lot.
He closed the car door, locked it before he started walking towards the entrance.
He got many looks but he ignored them even if it's a bit new to him.
He checked the message Dr Degeorgia has sent him. He looked for table number seven.
All the tables in the cafe are filled out. He saw the familiar figure sitting near the window.
He started walking towards the table with eyes following his every move.
Gargi looked up when someone stopped at her table. She is waiting for Ace, they have stayed in touch but she didn't see him for six years.
She is excited to meet him. "How may I help you?" Gargi asked looking at the handsome man.
"Hi, Dr Degeoria," Ace said looking at the man.
Gargi looked at him in shock. "Ace?" She asked in unsure.
"Yes."
Her eyes widen in shock and surprise as she checked him out from top to bottom.
"Woah, you look so different," Gargi said standing up from her seat.
"Yeah..."
Ace wasn't planning to hug but Gargi hugged him. He awkwardly hugged her back.
It's not that he doesn't hug. It's just that he stopped making any contact with anyone. It's a bit unusual for him.
"How? When did this change happen?"
Ace took his seat, "change has to happen one day or the other day. It happened three years ago," Ace replied.
"That's amazing. You look so good and healthy," Gargi said still in a bit of shock.
Ace didn't comment on it. He just stayed quiet.
"How are you, Dr Degeorgia?" Ace asked.
"I'm doing good, I have opened my clinic in the city. It's going good and please call me Gargi. You are not my client anymore," Gargi said.
"Okay."
"How are you? Why didn't you tell me that you are coming to New York?"
"I'm good, it didn't cross my mind. Was busy with a lot of things," Ace replied.
"In which hotel you are staying? I have my apartment, you can stay in my apartment."
Ace shook his head. "How many days you are going to stay here?"
Before Ace could answer her question waiter came.
"Hello, ready to order?" The waiter asked.
"Yes, can I please have a cappuccino," Ace said.
"I will have a cold coffee and carrot cake," Gargi said.
"That's all?" Waiter asked.
"Yes, thank you."
"It will take fifteen minutes."
"Okay."
"Sure."
"So how many days you are going to stay in New York?" Gargi asked again. She is thinking that he is on a vacation.
"I have a house here. I'm living in Kips Bay," Ace said.
"Kips bay? You are not a vacation?" Gargi asked.
"No, I'm going to live here."
"Wow, that's nice! I live in Bay Ridge. We can meet up whenever we want to."
Ace didn't say anything. He just nodded his head. He is not sure if he is going to meet her regularly or not.
"I'm going to enter the eSports national tournaments next month," Ace said.
"National tournaments? Are you joining Jaggers again?"
"No, I'm not going to be a captain. I have teams who are entering the tournament. I started my company," Ace said.
"Really? Tell me about it," Gargi asked.
Ace explained to her about his company and the boys. Gargi listened to him attentively but she couldn't concentrate properly when he is looking at her.
She tried to not concentrate on his handsomeness but she couldn't help it.
She was surely interested in him before but right now she is having her feelings take a toll on her mind.
He is four months elder than her. They are of the same age and she is thankful for that.
"When you are going to celebrate the welcome party?" Gargi asked.
"Welcome party?"
"Of course, aren't you going to give the boys a warm welcome party. Do that, that will encourage them."
Ace thought about it. When they were in India, Sawyer and Rohan took care of parties.
The boys used to attend the events and parties that happened in the backpacking hostels.
They have been constantly practising. A welcome party will ease their nervousness.
"I will help you to plan the welcome party. If you don't mind," Gargi said.
She is praying inside that he would agree to her suggestion. She truly wants to be a part of the party so that she can meet him again.
"Sure, help me with the party. I'm not good at holding a party," Ace said sipping his coffee.
Gargi smiled brightly. "Of course, I will help you."
"Thank you."
"Haha, I don't have many friends in New York. Meet me on weekends, now that you are here," Gargi said trying her luck.
Gargi's gaze went to the girl who is standing behind Ace.
The girl placed her hand on Ace's chair as she is talking with her friend.
Ace didn't know how to answer Gargi's question. She has been a good doctor to him and he couldn't ignore her.
Ace looked up to see Gargi looking at someone behind him. He turned around to see what she is seeing.
The girl turned around and started walking away.
"You know her?" Ace asked Gargi.
"No... No... I was just watching her smile. Her smile was beautiful," Gargi said truthfully.
Ace nodded his head. "Sure, we will meet on weekends."
Gargi smiled nodding her head. She looked down at her cake and started eating.
"But why there are so many students?" Ace asked.
"Oh, there is a small music event happening on the rooftop of the cafe. There is an arts college nearby and all the students are here," Gargi explained.
