Michael kept staring at her, she was indeed beautiful. Some strands of her hair fell on her face. Michael left his chair and sat beside the bed to have a better view of her face. She just laid there, calmly.
He smiled to himself, he was now drooling. He stood up and went into the other room to rest. Flashbacks of how he brought her home started coming into his mind.
He had asked her who her parents were, where she lived and who she was. Instead of answering him, she walked a step then fainted on the ground. He had brought her home after concluding that is was the best opportunity.
Whether she was normal or not, no one deserved to be abandoned in a countryside’s graveyard. It wasn’t humane. It was very likely she wouldn’t get any one to bring her out to the city. They’re few people who visited the graveyard.
There was a slight knock on his door. He thought of yelling “come in” but then decided he would have less temptations if they were at the living room and not in his room. On opening the door, he found no one. Korma sat at the couch waiting for him.
“Are you okay now?” he asked. She nodded. “Are you ready to answer my questions” he asked again. She hesitated and nodded.
Michael sat back and made a “go on” sign at her but she just stared into space. “Korma?” he called. She dragged her eyes to him then dragged them back. Michael was confused, “What in the world are you?” he was offended.
Leaving her beautiful features aside, she seemed like an unknown threat to him, and maybe mankind.
“Korma!” he yelled. He regretted it. He was about apologizing to her when she spoke.
“I am Korma da Zin, daughter of Lord Zin of the sixth valley. I come with great urgency to warn the inhabitants of Earth of an attack from a planet called Xuza which will colonize Earth on the year 2020. For the safety of Earth’s inhabitants, return with me to my planet Zeug”. On delivering the message, Korma turns her face to Michael.
Planet Zeug. Year 2000.
Its been almost two months. Korma hasn’t sent back any feedback on the a*******n of humans. The news of her visiting Earth has spread like wildfire. And the results are taking time.
But of course, time runs differently on Earth so maybe it’s less. Lord Zin calls on a maid. “Yes, my Lord” she answers. “Prepare my clothes, I need to see someone”. The maids nods, bows and leaves.
Leaving his zorb on a garage like house, Lord Zin walks proudly into the house of Lord Ka. “Zain Zeuga” he greets. “Zain Zeuga to you” Lord Ka responds while climbing down his stairs.
(P.S: “Zain Zeuga” is a greeting meaning “Good health” or “Good wishes”. An alternative to the Human’s “Good morning” or “Good day”)
“You sent your daughter to go to Earth?” Lord Ka asks feigning ignorance while pouring himself a drink. Lord Zin nods as he reaches out for a drink himself. “Are you sure she’ll make it?” Lord Ka asks again. This time Lord Zin says “she will”.
The rest of the discussion was about the progress of the valley science organization. Lord Ka, also being a worker at the valley science, has huge interest on being the head of the organization. For years, he has been clamoring the position.
This, Lord Zin is aware of but instead of making him an enemy, he rather decides to make him an ally. They have common goals. Right now, their both rival is Doctor Zubin, who is currently head of valley science.
He was well above ninety but has a brain that gets ever younger. He also has the favor of the King of Zeug. He was very influential and one needs a smart plan to completely exterminate him.
(P.S: Unlike on Earth, Zeug's have a mix of monarchy and the republic government with the King of Zeug being the highest. They also make use of regions not continents.)
Still in their conversation, Lord Ka remembers an experiment Lord Zin had been working on. A top experiment that if it succeeds Lord Zin could be given a position higher than his. Lord Ka frowns on that thought.
If Korma successfully brings a human to Zeug, the credits would go to her father. If her father successfully finishes his experiments, he will be also honored.
“It’s a win-win for you” Lord Ka blurts out. Lord Zin, confused, pours himself another drink, “And what are my to win?”. Different thoughts begins to swim into Lord Ka's head. Korma mustn’t succeed. The experiment must fail.
No matter how much Lord Ka knows he needs Lord Zin to bring down Doctor Zubin, he also knows Lord Zin won’t be his ally forever. He needs to act fast so that when Doctor Zubin is exterminated, he, Lord Ka of the seventh valley, would be appointed.
“Have you heard from Korma?” he answers Lord Zin. Lord Zin, who has been watching Lord Ka's facial expression, shakes his head in the negative. A little smirk hides in Lord Ka’s face, “I hope she succeeds” he says. A maid comes in to change the finished bottle to a new one. “No, stop” Lord Zin commands. “I’m on my way out”.
He stands abruptly and leaves the house without any word of farewell to Lord Ka. Lord Ka, also acts like he wasn’t concerned or was supposed to walk his visitor to the door as culture demands. He only raised a glass up to Lord Zin slams the door out.
Even the blind could have seen the smirk on Lord Ka’s face, even the deaf could have heard the use of irony when Lord Ka’s had said “I hope she succeeds”. And Lord Zin had noticed them all.
Lord Ka’s wasn’t worth being his ally after all. The fact Lord Zin has higher chances of overthrowing Lord Zubin must have infuriated him. As Lord Zin walks into his zorb, he lets out a chilly laughter “Don’t hope, Ka, just watch”.
