Chapter 16Kenu spread a large map of the reservation on the table and turned his full attention on studying it. He pointed to a spot not far from the river. “If we do not find him where I can drive, we will leave the truck in this area and enter the woods on foot.” He didn’t look up from the map as he said, “This thing that you do. When will it happen?”
“I’m never exactly sure, but soon, I’m afraid. Bring the map. Wolves can’t read, but you can.” With every ounce of his being, he hoped they would find Logan before he shifted. The uncertainty of their success if he was a wild animal was large. Still, he explained how he thought they might work as a team if he were a wolf.
Kenu suggested some changes and, that fast, they had a plan.
Blaze pushed back his chair and stood. “Let’s do it.”
