Chapter 9

"Raphael.."

"That is my name the last time that I have checked."

We got interrupted by a low-key voice that was coming from the front door.

"Yes, Miss Logan what seems to be the problem?"

"Mr. Haunt, I'm so sorry I can come back another time?"

"Please do share what is on your mind?" he said cool and calm while staring at me.

"Mrs. Duke unfortunately this house will be taken off the market since it was bought just a few minutes ago!"

Raphael answered her before I could even get to my sentence.

"I see that you took your maiden name back sweetheart. I should say I like the new attitude that you have developed. Mrs. Logan I" ll double the offer and if this house is not sold to this lovely lady here then we will have some serious issues!"

"I will get the paperwork ready while you enjoy your new house Mrs.."

"Duke," I said while wishing that he was not standing here at the moment. He never spent so much time with me in years, he would have rather left the room. After the poor woman flew out of the room we stood there staring at each other. Guess he made this a starting tournament. He took a step back then headed for the door.

"You are an ungrateful person, you should have thanked me for what I did for you and your family. Yet you decided to leave me!"

"You left me no choice as you decided to w***e around, and let's get one thing straight here baby! You blackmailed me to stay with you only that I could see Alexa!"

"The driver will drop off Alexa tomorrow afternoon, enjoy your pathetic life!" those were the last words that he spoke.

2 years later

It has been months since I saw Emily since we parted ways. I had moved on over the Duke family's daughters finally. I have been dating a nice blond girl from France but II haven't told Alexa that yet. I only get to see Alexa on weekends since I'm always traveling and leaving her at home alone is not going to work. After I had breakfast I picked my Lamborghini to drive to work as I had a few paperwork to be done. Saturdays are usually a very calm and relaxing day at the office so I get to catch up on all the agreements and documentation that needs my signature as well as my attention. I took Alexa with me so that she can see what her father does for a living and maybe one day she will follow in my footsteps. I left her by the couch in my office with crayons and paper so that she can keep herself busy. As I was busy signing a document I looked up into Alexa's eyes. She had so much of Emily in her that I felt bad for what had happened years ago, but it was for the best even still we work on contracts regarding Alexa and I never get to see her, not even with her working here. There was a knock on the door when I heard it was Lukas he came in only to get run over by poor Alexa.

"Are those for me uncle luke?"

"A princess always needs a beautiful rose!" He said handing her a red rose out of the bouquet.

"So who is it this time Lukas, whose heart is going to break?"

"Oh I'm not planning on breaking her heart, hell I'm still getting my guts together to ask her out on a date!" he said with a chuckle then out of the blue Alexa said something that made my mind go crazy :

"Mommy will love them, she never gets flowers anymore!"

I looked up at Lukas then back to Alexa with calm eyes I smiled and turned to my computer again. This was foolish of me to feel this way about poor flowers. Emily has the right to live her life the way she chooses. I heard voices outside then my phone went off.

"Mr. Haunt a lady with the name Rose is here to see you?" what was she doing here, she must have known that I had my daughter with me today. I replied smoothly to her then saw the door burst open only to see Alexa flew out of the office. I stood up with speed chasing after her only to find her hugging a black-haired woman.

"Mommy, you came to visit me and daddy?"

The woman's words came out sweet and seductive: "Actually I brought some documents for uncle Lukas's baby, but it is nice to see you here with daddy!" She said then picked her up. When she looked up our eyes met for the first time in 2 years I saw Emily again. She smiled then gave Alexa to me.

"Hi, so is it bring your daughter to work day nor did I mis something?"

"Hi there..."

"Daddy can we go into your office now please its so cold here!" She said as she threw her hands around my neck. I wanted to stay and talk to her, but due to the circumstances, I could not. I said goodbye then headed straight into my office placing Alexa on the couch with her crayons while I went to have a seat. Great Rose was here how could I forget! She stood up and walked towards me, but before she could have done anything I three her a warning look as Alexa was in the room with me. She only smiled then went to sit on the couch by the window. I sat down only to find my eyes on Emily outside having a blast with Lukas, he even gave her the flowers that he had earlier. He tucked her hair neatly behind her ear then smiled as if he was the one for her. She handed him the files and left the office. I was going nuts with the thoughts of him and her so I decided to grant her a visit.

Emily's p.o.v

I got home from the office and headed straight for the kitchen only to hear a knock on the door. Could it be Lukas I guess I did like him after all he was happy with who I was? I walked up to the door with a smile, but it had dropped the moment I had open the door. He stood there with his hands in his pockets and his tie was loose. His hand went through his hair with a move he went past me. This was the first time after our last encounter that I saw him. Alexa came in greeting me then ran to her room with a big smile on her face. I was shocked about what was happening at this moment. I Turned around and headed for the kitchen to finish my coffee.

"Would you like some coffee or tea?"

"Coffee would be nice thank you baby!"

Those words sent shivers down my spine just the fact of him standing there was enough to send me to f*****g mars. I took the cups out to make the coffee only to be trapped by none other than Raphael himself. His eyes were dark with a soft voice he whispered in my neck.

"So you have a thing for Lukas now?"

"No I don't or maybe I do?" I said then he answered me with the most frightening words that I ever heard him say.

"Your mine and no one else, the one who dares to touch you will die!" he said then tucked a string of loose hair behind my ear, only to feel his lips crash onto mine. Our lips were burning into each other as we needed water to let this flame go out. Once I came to my full senses I pushed him off of me only to find him smiling. He came closer only to hear Alexa laughing in the kitchen This was not like I remembered him, he never cared about me like this. He walked up to me saying goodbye then kissing me on the lips then left.
