The Taken Princess

Chapter 3

Janes pov

I ran out of the dungeon moving as fast as I could, I needed to get to Asyra. I linked a few guards that I want to be outside of Asyras window as well as the entrance to her room. I want her guarded at all times, once I reached her room I saw the guards were already there. I walked up to the door, “Thank you for coming so quickly.” I bowed my head in respect to them, they are putting their life in danger to protect my daughter.

“Of course your highness, we would do anything to keep our royals safe.” He opened the door for me and I could see Asyra sound asleep on her bed. Zac was sitting in the chair next to her reading a book.

“Mom, what’s going on? You look upset.” He walked over to me, even though he is going to be fourteen tomorrow I have to slightly look up to meet his eyes.

“Someone is for sure after her, the rogue you took down wasn’t a wolf. Your father will explain more later, right now I just want to be with my daughter.” I walked over and sat next to her on the bed. Selene walked in as I scooted her closer to me.

“I will try and heal her, your powers are strong my darling. However, they are not as strong as mine.” I nodded to her, Zac just stared at her in awe. He has never met the Moon Goddess in person before. “I will talk to you in a few minutes Zac.” She said in a light tone.

His mouth was open in shock, “Honey close your mouth, unless you want to eat flies.” He quickly snapped his jaws shut and looked at me then back to Selene.

“I always thought you and dad meant she came to you figuratively, not literally!” I just smiled at him. I looked at Asyra as Selene’s hands began to glow. I watched as my little girl's face went from a look of discomfort to calm. Her eyes shot open and she sat upright.

“Where is Luca?” She shouted, and I chuckled.

I placed my hand on her shoulder and gently pushed her back onto the pillows. “He is down in the dining hall with grandma, why?”

“Did he really shift?” I nodded my head, “Oh I thought that was a dream, his wolf talked to Anyja, it’s grandpa Rick's wolf!” she said excitedly.

I nodded my head again, “We know darling, the Moon Goddess told us.” She smiled at me. I pointed over to the Moon Goddess and her jaw dropped just like Zac’s did. I pushed her mouth closed and the door slammed open.

“What happened? Where is our granddaughter?” I looked up and laughed as I watched Sean, Emily, Zach and Claire come barreling into the room. Emily caught sight of Asyra and then noticed the Moon Goddess sitting next to her. She smiled and bowed her head.

They noticed what she did and the other three followed suit, “It is an honor.” Sean said softly.

Selene stood up from the bed, “Now we all have quite a bit to talk about.” She said as she walked towards Zac. “Tomorrow you become the Crown Prince, your training will be very difficult these first few years. It will be a while before it is done, however what happens in the next ten years will be your most difficult.” Normally training a royal takes ten to fifteen years. However because we have a long life span because of the white wolf blood it will take closer to fifteen years of training then ten years of ruling with guidance.

She turned to me, “now I can see Luca’s future without much issue, however, I cannot see Asyra’s.” She paused for a second as she took a deep breath, “It’s not uncommon for this to happen then later I see it again. However I cannot see her future at all, it’s like her future just falls away.” She said softly.

“What does that mean?” Panic coursed through me, I couldn’t lose my daughter. I pulled her closer to me and held her tightly.

“Something or someone enters her life that I cannot see, just like I could not see the creature in the basement.” I ran my fingers through her hair, I must keep her safe. “We will figure this out. I am guessing there is someone that is being protected, just out of my sight.” She added.

"We will Jane, I promise I will do whatever it takes.” Chastity’s words brought some peace to my mind. I placed my head on top of Asyra’s and took a deep breath as Zeke walked into the room.

Zeke’s pov

I ran as quickly as I could once I felt the sheer panic come through the bond. Something happened, I knew where she was going. Zac had linked to let us know that Doctor Hannah was moving Asyra to her room and that she needed rest. I saw the door to her room as I entered the stone hall, it was wide open and I didn’t see any guards standing outside of her door. I ran until I reached the entrance.

“What is going on? Where are the guards?” I shouted and walked into the room. I noticed it was filled with people. I saw Zac in shock leaning up against the vanity. Everyone’s eyes turned to me, I looked over to where everyone was standing and noticed the guards first. “Why are you two in here and not out there?” My mom quickly rushed over to me, grabbing my arm.

“I am sorry son, that would be our fault, we sort of just rushed in and they followed after us.” I nodded my head as the guards walked back out to their posts.

I walked over to the bed and pulled Jane into my arms, I linked her, “why did I feel panic through the bond? What happened?” She looked up at me as tears formed in her eyes. She tried to speak but no words made it from her mouth.

“I gave her some news that I am sure was quite upsetting for her.” I turned to the Moon Goddess and of course she would have been able to hear me link Jane, “I told her that I could see Luca’s future but not Asyra’s.” Yep, now I am a little panicked as well. I could feel Zane pacing back and forth in my mind.

“You can’t see her future, but you can see Luca’s? How is that even possible?” I looked back at Jane who had Asyra sitting next to her under the purple comforter. I know she is scared about what this means.

“I am not sure, I have never had this happen before. I need to go back and talk with Odin and the other Gods.” She vanished before anything else could be said.

“What does this mean?” Emily asked, looking at Sean, he huffed and pulled her into his chest.

My father walked over and sat next to Asyra, “Honey, somebody is to be with you at all times. You are very precious to us, do you understand my darling?” She nodded her head and wrapped her hands around his waist. I pulled Jane even closer and kissed the top of her head.

“Dad, I think we should have a guard with her at all times as well as one of us.” I turned and looked at Zac as he spoke, I am so proud of him. He will make an amazing King one day.

“I think that is exactly what is to happen. We will set up a rotation and we will decide on who gets first watch. Zac you will not take a watch until after the coronation.” He nodded his head in agreement.

Luca’s pov

“Yes Vince, I know! I am going there now.” Having this wolf in my head is going to take some getting used to. We were both very worried about my sister. I walked up the stone spiral stairs until I reached the corridor to our rooms. As I walked I could hear the clicking of my shoes echoing off the stone walls. It’s dark and I couldn’t sleep so I went for a walk through the castle. It’s been happening more often, the sleepless nights. I could feel Asyra more now than I could before, she feels scared but not for herself. She is worried that someone will get hurt because of her.

I stopped in front of my door staring at the iron rings, I sighed and turned around. Asyra’s room was directly across from mine. We used to share until she got her wolf then Mom and Dad made us split into our own rooms. I took five big steps towards her door, there were two guards one on either side of the door. I looked at one and he smiled at me, “Can’t sleep?” I shook my head, “She isn’t either, I bet your wolves need to be close to each other.” I watched as he pushed the big Mahogany door open. “Go on in, we are right here if you need anything.” He said with a big smile.

I walked in and realized that Asyra was still awake just staring up at the ceiling. I looked over and saw Grandma Sara and Grandpa Ryken sitting on an air mattress with pillows and blankets in front of the fireplace. The fireplace crackling was the only noise in the room. They were awake also, they must be using their mind link to talk to each other as their eyes were glazed over. Asyra bolted out of bed and pulled me into a hug. “I was so worried about you!” She said as he squeezed me hard around the waist.

I squeezed her back, “I couldn’t sleep, would it be okay if I joined you?” She smiled and pulled me towards her bed. We climbed under the covers and snuggled next to each other like we used to do all the time. Finally I felt Vince calming down. “How do you feel now that you shifted?” She asked me.

“Pretty good, Vince is an awesome wolf. He is also kind of annoying though. He won’t stop going on and on about needing to be near Anja, needing to make sure you guys are safe. He has told me a lot about Grandpa Rick.” Asyra looked at me, surprised.

“Your wolf remembers Rick?” Grandma chimed in, I told her about Vince but I didn’t tell her he remembered. I nodded my head, she walked over to us and she smiled. “Would you allow Vince out for a few minutes?” I nodded my head again and pushed him forward.

Sara’s pov

I heard that his wolf was Vince after dinner, Luca told me. I didn’t want to ask anything for fear of getting my hopes up, but when Luca said that Vince remembers Rick I just had to know if he remembered me. Luca closed his eyes and when he opened them they wereice blue.

“Vince?” I asked softly, I felt Rykens hand on my shoulder as the bed dipped behind me.

“Yes Sara, I remember you, I remember everything.” I smiled, he is getting his second chance. “I will not discuss anything about that time except the rated G times until he is older.” I started to chuckle.

“You mean like the time you took over and we had a water balloon fight for the entire pack?” I couldn’t hold back a laugh and neither could he. We talked for a while before we decided it was time for everyone to go to sleep. I tucked the twins back into bed and Ryken and I climbed back into our own makeshift bed.

“Are you excited to have Vince back in your life?” Ryken linked me.

“I am, but you are the only wolf for me.” I smiled at him and bit my lip. “If only we weren’t on watch tonight.” His eyes flickered showing Tristan wanted out.

“The things you do to me, woman.” He smiled as he pulled me closer in our bed. I laid my head down and snuggled into his chest.

“I can’t believe that the moon goddess blessed Vince a second chance. It will be nice getting to know him as our grandson this time.” I nodded in agreement as I let Rykens steady heartbeat lull me to sleep. Tomorrow is a big day and we need to be ready for anything.

Asyra’s pov

I jumped out of bed like a rabbit in a garden, I hurried over to my sleeping grandparents and jumped on them. “Wake up, wake up, wake up! Today is the day! Come on grandma get up!” She was groggy and obviously not prepared for my excitement. She groaned as she tried to pull the blankets back up. “Come on grandma! It’s Zac’s Coronation day! We have to get ready!” I said as I yanked on the blankets more.

“She gave up and let out a sigh, “How do you children have so much ENERGY?” She emphasized the last word as she dropped her head back onto her white fluffy pillow. Grandpa started laughing at us.

I looked at him and jumped towards him again. “I don’t know why but I have an insane amount of energy today!” I was giddy with excitement.

“That’s actually normal, now that Luca shifted your wolves will have more energy than they did before.” I thought about it for a minute then shrugged.

“Okay then that means more fun!” Grandpa sat up slightly using his elbow to support himself. I grabbed his hand and started yanking on him, “Come on grandpa we have to get up!” Just then there was a knock on the door, Jace walked in with Emerald on his arm. I smiled and gave up trying to get them out of bed. I ran to Jace and jumped on him. “UNCLE JACE!”

“Oomf, hi! I guess you are feeling better!” I nodded as he picked me up. “We were told to come check on you, and I heard you met the Moon Goddess yesterday.”

I nodded my head “Yep! She is so pretty! Her hair is long and silver colored and she was super nice and healed me!” He smiled at me.

“That’s good!” He turned to look at grandma and grandpa, “We are taking the next watch. Asyra, Luca you need to get dressed and get ready for breakfast. After breakfast your mom wants both of your help with the last minute decorating before the coronation.” I smiled and ran to my big mahogany dresser. I pulled out black leggings and a yellow t-shirt, I ran into the bathroom and quickly changed and brushed my teeth. I grabbed my hair brush and brushed my dark blonde hair until the knots were gone then pulled my hair into a pony like my Mama taught me.

I ran from the bathroom and met Emerald sitting in the big grey chair next to the bed. I smiled when I saw her big swollen belly. I walked over and gave her a gentle hug, “When will this baby come?” I never knew, the first one came out a werewolf. His name is James, but the second one came out mostly human with a few werewolf abilities so she was pregnant way longer than a werewolf normally would be. She had amazing hearing and was a little bit stronger than most humans but not as strong as a werewolf. Her name is Anette and she is two years younger than I am. James is a few months older than me.

“I don’t know, the Doctor can’t tell if this baby is human or wolf. We will just have to wait and see.” I smiled as I put my hand on the belly, I could feel the baby kicking.

I hugged her again and felt warmth throughout my body. I looked up at her and smiled. “I think they will be perfect either way, Anja says they will be.” I turned around and walked towards the door. I looked at Emerald who was completely stunned.

“We are only having one baby.” her voice was quiet and I don’t think she intended for me to hear her. I smiled and walked into Luca’s room.

“Hurry up slowpoke!” I whined at him, my stomach was growling and I was so hungry. I grabbed him by the arm and dragged him out of the room and down the stairs, Emerald was right behind us and Jace was at the bottom of the stairs waiting.

Jace’s pov

I watched as Asyra dragged Luca down the stairs, I looked up at my mate and smiled at her. She seemed conflicted and I could tell something was bothering her. I put my arm out for her and we followed the kids into the dining hall. “My dear, what is wrong?” I asked her quietly. She shook her head and shrugged her shoulders.

“I don’t know, we all know Asyra is a little different than most wolves. She somehow got some of her mother’s abilities. However, she just told me that they will be perfect.” She said as she rubbed her swollen belly. I stopped and gently yanked Emerald back with me.

“Wait, they?” She nodded her head, “Hasn’t the doctor checked and there is only one that is healthy?” We knew we were having twins but the doctor said only one would be healthy enough to survive. That’s why we had been gone, we went to the Mirror of Water coven to get a second opinion. They said the same though. Asyra ran up to me and hugged Emerald around the belly. Her eyes were squinted shut as she squeezed her, when she opened her eyes I noticed a soft glow in them.

She was about to turn and run back towards her mother, “Asyra wait!” She walked back to me and I knelt down to her, “What did Anja do? I saw your eyes glow.”

She shrugged her shoulders, “I don’t know, she told me to go hug Auntie Emerald so I did.” Jane began to walk towards us.

“What’s going on Jace?” We didn’t tell anyone we were having twins because we thought that the one baby would die. I was lost in thought about how to tell them about the babies, if the babies are wolves they would be born within the next couple weeks or sooner. “Jace?” Jane’s voice brought me back to reality.

“Okay I will tell everyone right now.” I nodded at Emerald and she had tears in her eyes. I cleared my throat and it suddenly felt hot and dry. “Uhem. We told you guys a while ago that Emerald was pregnant. What we did not share was that they are twins.” Everyone gasped except for Asyra, she continued eating the sausage and eggs on her plate. “We didn’t tell you that because we were told that one of the babies would not make it.”

“Jace Marshall Baker, why would you not tell us this?” My mom was now in tears and my dad pulled her into his embrace. He looked stunned, I should have told them all sooner. I was about to speak up when Asyra said something.

“Anja says the babies are healthy and will be here very soon. I can’t wait to meet them.” She took a big bite of a cinnamon roll with orange frosting on it as she wiggled in her seat.

“Asyra honey, what do you mean?” Her eyes began to glow a bright golden color and she looked straight at Jane.

“I healed the baby, I did not want to see Emerald hurting anymore. I could feel how sad she was anytime she thought of the babies. Now they are healed and will be here by the time the Coronation begins.” Her eyes stopped glowing and Asyra continued to eat as if nothing happened.

“She healed the baby, how did she do that?” Zeke said in surprise, “I am thankful she did it but how? She is not a white wolf.” Ryken looked up quickly.

“Of course! You are the first white wolf to have a daughter! That daughter also has a male twin. It’s possible that some of your powers transferred to her as well. Like a gene that passes from mother to daughter.” That did make sense, I felt Emerald's hand on my forearm and she squeezed.

“What’s wrong?” I looked at her and she was just breathing calmly. After a minute she calmed down.

She stood up and her eyes grew wide, “Um, my water just broke.” Everyone’s eyes were on her when Zach spoke.

“Well Jane, I guess you’re not the only family member to have your water break at the table.” We all began to laugh as a couple of omegas ran over with a few towels.

“Sorry Zac but I think we might be missing the Coronation.” I chuckled and he looked like he was going to pass out.

“That’s fine, I will forgive you.” He looked shell shocked. We walked out of the dining hall. I was helping Emerald hold the towel up as we made our way to the hospital. I had linked the doctor and she said she was getting a room set up for us.

“Okay babe, let’s go have some babies.” before we got out of the hall I hallard out over my shoulder. “James and Anette will be here in a few hours. Don’t tell them, we want it to be a surprise.” I heard everyone laughing as the doors closed.
