Chapter Seven
Cherry’s autocar rolled to a stop outside an imposing dwelling. The three-story, double-fronted house sat alone on an offshoot of the highway that ran from Oceanside to Annwn, in a low spot between the surrounding hills. A garden of architectural native vegetation surrounded it, though the plants were unkempt and overgrown, as if no one had tended them in a long while.
The house was constructed from reclaimed building materials that originally came from the Nova Fortuna. The plastiwood created for the building of the colony’s first settlement had proven extremely tough and durable, and it remained the favored material for creating new dwellings, providing the builder could get it.
