Chapter 78

1014 Words

OLIVIA The sun had barely begun to warm the morning when the doorbell chimed through my apartment. It was an unexpected visitor, especially so early on a Saturday. As I opened the door, my eyes widened in surprise and then softened into a warm smile as I saw Auntie Melanie and Uncle Luis McCade, Ely's parents, standing before me. They were always kind to me, and I welcomed them with open arms. "Good morning, Olivia," Auntie Melanie greeted me with a warm hug. "We've missed you." Uncle Luis nodded in agreement, offering me a friendly smile. "It's been too long, dear." I invited them inside, and as I led them to the dining area, I couldn't help but wonder what had brought them here so early. The scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and I offered to prepare breakfast for them.
