Chapter 6Hazel jumped on the first Niagara Falls bus she could find outside the hotel on a hunch. After waking up and just missing the breakfast served in the front lounge, she’d tried to knock on Christopher’s hotel room door, but got no response. There were no messages for her at the front desk, or on her burner phone. A quick tour of the hotel itself led her nowhere in locating either one of her siblings, or mother, for that fact. The entire place felt deserted, except that she knew that she wasn’t alone. So she got on the bus. It was a city bus, not a tourist one, and it went directly into the downtown core.
