The ghost appearing wasn’t the only shock. Its appearance was horribly grotesque, with a face that stretched downward like a Scream mask. Its lower jaw flopped around like the bones had been disconnected and its hollow eyes had only a pinprick of light in their depths. A ragged shroud covered its shoulders and the body tapered to a thin point just below where the waist should have been. It was most definitely transparent with a grayish hue to its flimsy flesh. The long, bony fingers ended in talon-like claws, and its wavy hair spread out about its head like the snakes of Medusa.
Lilly let out a scream that she stifled by clapping both hands over her mouth. She stumbled back and into her friends. Una tripped on her own feet and together they fell into Al’s strong arms.
