Stacey hated hearing Arthur demand a divorce, so when she heard Arthur talk about it tonight, her temper shot up quickly.
"Arthur, don't make me shut you up right now, stop talking!" Stacey said in a low but threatening voice.
"You treat me like I don't have emotions, we've been married for two years now, and you treat me like I am a rock, like I don't have emotions. It's not entirely my fault, that you lost your virginity to me you know… you begged me to spend the night with you." Arthur complained, his voice getting sad. "You treat me like I'm nothing… you ordered your security to never let me out of the Villa…I'm not free…." Arthur's sentence was interrupted as a cell phone was thrown at him, but it didn't hit him. Even though Stacey's aim was off, he took that as a warning shot.
Softly sighing, Stacey sat up on the bed and gave him a cold glare, as she reached for the earplugs on the bedside table. There was nothing more annoying than hearing the guy who took her precious virginity complain about his punishment.
"Go to sleep….. don't forget you have a lot to do tomorrow, you have house chores to do, and a bunch of other stuff to do…at home." Stacey mockingly said, as she covered herself.
"Oops, I almost forgot, I'm the maid in this house," Arthur exclaimed, sarcastically.
"So! You do know your place!" Stacey replied in the same sarcastic manner as him. "Now shut up, maid!" Stacey warned sarcastically.
'Maybe I should just walk out of this marriage. What am I doing here? I don't think she'll ever have genuine feelings for me, she'll never feel the way I do, and she'll never understand.' Arthur thought to himself, his heart beating painfully in his chest. 'I have a lot I need to do back home….Jared and my grandfather are old now, I should give him a break…. But I really love you Stacey and I was hoping maybe one day you'll get to accept me as your husband,' Arthur thought, looking at Stacey as she slept on her bed..
In the morning.
"It's morning," Arthur mumbled, faking a smile on his face as he looked at his reflection in the mirror, he could barely recognise this beggar he saw in the mirror.
Letting out a sigh, Arthur walked out of the bathroom with a dejected face.
Stacey was sitting on the bed as she just woke up.
Ignoring her, Arthur walked to his closet on the corner, he had already made up his mind to leave.
Stacey was surprised with his behavior just now, he always greets her and tries to talk to her in the morning, he tries to flirt her. What changed?
Stacey was even more puzzled when Arthur started parking his clothes in a backpack. Shouldn't he be preparing coffee for her and the whole family right now?
"Ummm...what are you doing?" Stacey asked, with a curious look.
Glancing at her, Arthur let out a soft smile, and got back to packing as he replied, "I've decided I'm going to walk out of this marriage." Arthur replied casually, with a smile on his face.
Gazing at Arthur, Stacey walked towards him and grabbed the backpack off his hands, letting out a faint chuckle, "Cut it out, you know I would never allow you to leave…" Her expression turned serious as her emerald green eyes locked with his hazel brown eyes.
Silence fell for a few seconds as they got lost in each other's eyes.
"Is everything alright?" Arthur's voice snapped Stacey back to reality, she looked at him awkwardly and smiled, "Make me coffee," She ordered, trying to get over the fact that she was lost in his pretty eyes. "Unless you have the 100 million dollars stated on the contract, then be free to walk out please." Stacey annoyedly said in a whisper, turning away from Arthur.
"Yeah sure I have it." Arthur replied nonchalantly, making her turn to look at him with a surprised expression.
Eyeing him from head to toe, Stacey walked closer to him with a serious expression, knowing damn well that he is just lying. "Really?" She asked nonchalantly, looking back and forth from his eyes to his pinkish lips, as if she was considering kissing her husband.
"Yes." Arthur replied, looking anywhere inside the room, but at her, right now he just wanted out of this marriage, finally giving up on his dream of her falling in love with him, "I'll send you the money as soon as I walk out of the Villa, tell the security to let me leave." Arthur suggested confidently.
Sure, she lets him go, and then he disappears, where the hell is he going to get so much money?
The seriousness never left Stacey's face as she glared at him, and scoffed, "This is not about the money Arthur, even if you miraculously had the hundred million dollars, I wouldn't take it, Arthur," Stacey replied coldly.
And then suddenly, her facial expression softened as she ran her hands on Arthur's six pack, she looked him in the eyes as she said softly: "I need coffee to start my day…who knows, maybe tonight you can sleep next to me? You're my husband after all," She finished the sentence as she gave him a gentle kiss on his cheek.
Arthur blushed like a little girl, as the image of her kissing his cheek so lovingly replayed on his mind, this was exactly what he always wanted, looks like him wanting to leave made her realize something?
Stacey's voice snapped him out of his thoughts. "Well, my coffee?" Stacey asked coldly, taking a seat on the bed.
With a slight smile, Arthur left Stacey's bedroom, and went downstairs to prepare coffee for his wife.
When he was coming down the stairs whistling excitedly, his mother-in-law, Victoria, was waiting for him in the living room, carrying a laundry basket. As usual, Arthur had a smile on his face, as he approached his mother-in-law, "Good Morning mother-in-law?" Arthur greeted, maintaining the smile that Victoria hated.
Victoria sternly eyed him from head to toe, and her blood boiled, when she saw him smiling.
"Trash, I'm not your mother-in-law…. anyways since You're up early?" Victoria mockingly replied, "Make yourself useful and do my laundry." She dropped the laundry on the sofa and started walking upstairs in her pajamas. She briefly turned around and let out a mocking grin, "Oh and, the laundry machine isn't working so you're going to do it by hand. Trash."
"Sure mother." Arthur mockingly replied.
Sighing exhaustingly, Mrs. Victoria turned and looked at Arthur with a disdainful look, eyeing him from head to toe menacingly. If he wasn't supposed to wash her clothes, right now, she would have ordered the security guards to beat some sense into him.
With a scoff, Victoria walked to her bedroom.
Arthur gladly picked the basket up, ready to start his laundry, when Hailey, Stacey's younger sister sneakily walked inside the house, looking tired, Arthur glanced at his watch and it was 6: 30 am, meaning she must have been out all night and now she wants to sneak in to her bedroom and pretend like she was home all night.
Arthur acted like he didn't see her, he yawned and looked the other way. "I better wash mom's clothes before she scolds me again." He chuckled, gently scratching the back of his head.
Hailey let out a sigh of relief, as she tiredly started going up the stairs, when a voice from behind her startled her, "Sister-in-law, it's not nice to ignore your brother-in-law."
Stunned, Hailey touched her chest, turned around and looked around the living room, acting like she didn't see her brother-in-law, "Where is my brother-in-law? Where?" She finally rested her eyes on him and mockingly laughed out. "Oh you? You're not even a real man, you are just a pretty face that tricked my sister into marrying him, so how do you expect me to accept you as my brother-in-law, look at you you're useless..trash..." Hailey smugly said pointing her fingers at Arthur, she turned and walked upstairs to her bedroom.
Those words would break a person's heart, but they never broke Arthur, he was used to being insulted by the Roth family. More like the wrath family, cause they took out their anger and frustration on him.
"One-day sister-in-law, one day, I'll show you," Arthur mumbled to himself, clenching his fists, his anger boiling. "I'm just waiting for your sister to accept me as her husband." Arthur mumbled, a smile crept up on his face as Arthur turned around only to see Damian, Stacey's twin brother glaring at him. 'When did he get here?' Arthur thought to himself, maintaining eye contact with Damian, wondering if he heard what he just said.
With a scoff, Damian looked at Arthur from head to toe, examining the casual raggy clothes that Arthur wore. Mockingly laughing, Damian said: "Keep dreaming trash," Damian said, he aggressively pushed Arthur out of the way, making him fall on the sofa, as he walked past him. "My sister will never love a useless guy like you homie." Damian said mockingly, his laugh echoing through the living room.
Rolling his eyes in irritation, Arthur replied politely: "Have a good day at work, brother-in-law!"
"Man, how shameless can this live-in son-in-law be?" Damian mumbled, to myself clenching his fists in anger. seeing Arthur ruined his good mood already.
Arthur was still seated on the sofa, holding a pillow, lost in thought. "Maybe he's right…it's been two years now, and there's still nothing between us," Arthur mumbled, he exhaled audibly and stood up to start doing his chores.
He was made to do everything in the house by the Roth family, cleaning the toilets, cooking, ironing and so much more. Not at all what he expected when Stacey forced him to marry her three years earlier. But what could he expect? She forced him to marry her. Threatening to get him locked up in prison for the rest of his life if he refuses to marry her.
But Arthur could leave this miserable life any time he wanted by just simply walking out of the door, and he had the best life waiting for him outside of this Villa, but his love for Stacey made him want to stay all the time he decided to leave. He didn't want to leave without his wife Stacey, he loved her so much, even though the feeling was not mutual. She didn't even let him touch her, not even once ever since they got married.
Arthur's cellphone rang bringing him back to reality. Exhaling audibly, he fished his old model cellphone from his pocket, as soon as he saw the callers name, a smile formed on his face.
