I didn’t doubt my feelings for Ana, but with how hard our fathers were pushing us and with what Lisa had said to Quinn, I did grow a little worried. We were just so close to having Ana all to ourselves. I didn’t want to risk losing her now.
Quinn drew back a little, releasing my arm and pondering my words. “You’re being superstitious right now.”
“Don’t blame me for being cautious. You heard Lisa, our fathers think we have lost our minds. They are going to pressure us.”
“But it won’t change us.”
“I don’t want it to.”
“Then stop worrying,” he ordered, and I sighed, focusing on the ground, nodding a little.
“I think there is another reason you’re worried now. Is it because Ana still hasn’t accepted us?”
