SELENE'S POV He's so dead. That was the only thought in my mind as I sat on the sofa beside Aldric, listening to Elder John speak. Thorin is going to kill him when he finds out he made this call, and behind his back, no less. Because I know there's no way he has Thorin's approval on this. Thorin would never agree to something like this—he's way too arrogant and prideful for that. Thorin is one of those men who would rather die than admit defeat, even if he already knows it isn't looking good for him. He would go to any length just to prove that he fears nothing and no one, and he doesn't care what he stands to lose as long as he achieves that. He would rather lose it all than have anyone see him as weak. At one time, I used to like that about him because my stupid self thought that w
