I let out another scoff as I sat in the back of the car, my elbow on the window, and my knuckles supporting my cheek.
From the corner of my eye, I could see Aldric constantly glancing at me, but I ignored him, pretending not to notice. This is all his fault anyway. He doesn't get to look at me like I did something wrong, or like I'm the cause of all his problems when he was the one who dragged me into this stupid trip with him. If I'm going to be forced to be miserable throughout this journey, then so is he. I’m going to make sure we’re both miserable together, and then we can be partners in misery. Maybe then he’ll listen better the next time I tell him I don’t want to accompany him on a journey.
