SELENE'S POV
"You don't believe me?" Allison asked when I remained silent, and I shook my head.
"No. No, it's not that. It's nothing like that. I... I believe you. I just..."
I trailed off when I realized I didn't really have anything to say.
Aldric did save me, twice now actually. Maybe it's just true what his mother said yesterday, maybe he does have a soft spot for strays. Which I guess is exactly what I am at this point, given the fact that I have nothing. Not even a shelter to call my own.
I just hope that's all Allison had in mind when she spoke just now, though. I hope it wasn't anything else. I hope she isn't entertaining any other thoughts on the matter.
