Megan felt very touched with his father’s words. Withholding her tears from falling, she managed to respond, “Thanks for accepting me wholeheartedly into your family, Dad. Words are not enough to express my gratitude. I am really happy that I got to have another loving family with all the Ricartes.”
Alaric wiped the small bits of perspiration on Megan’s forehead using his handkerchief but he also noticed that she was holding back her tears of joy. He hugged her and then whispered softly in her ear, “You are about to cry again.”
