“She is amazing,”
“She?” I repeated in surprise. Casey smiled softly as she leaned back against the couch and took a small sip of her coffee. We were seated in the living room and while I could hear my aunt moving around in her bedroom, I was focused on Casey.
“Yes, she. I was surprised too when I went to sign my contract. I had no idea what to expect but she is amazing,” she explained. “Evelyn is a vampire,” she then said and I nodded slowly. “She has a small cottage-type place just outside of the city and I moved in almost immediately,”
“Hmm,”
“She…well, she wasn’t at all what I had expected,”
“How so?” I asked curiously before I sipped at my coffee. The rich smooth flavor warmed me up and I watched as Casey’s expression changed from excited and joyful to loving and tender
