Chapter 1
We are known as enforces, for the vampire council. We are guard dogs. We are werewolves, but we are more commonly known as Hellhounds. For over 500 years we have served the council, protected them. My name is Lucas and this is the story of how the war between vampires and werewolves started.
We live in another dimension from humans, with a portal that separates out two worlds. It’s the only way to enter and exit our worlds.
I woke up in at 05:00 when the guards rang the morning bell. I got up and walked to the bathroom, I looked at my myself in the mirror, my black hair was a mess standing in all directions. Today was the day we hold trails for alpha. All of the werewolves are participating, I hate this day with everything in me. Today I have to kill most of my pack, my family to claim a title that I don’t even want. My friend Malcom walked in. “Are you ready for today? It’s the first day of the alpha trials.” He said as he opened the tap and filled the sink with water to wash his face. “Don’t remind me. I hate these stupid trails. It’s only here to see who is the strongest and who has no mercy.” I said as I excited the bathroom. “You’re right. That’s why you get the title Alpha if you win.” He said in a sarcastic voice. “How can you be so calm and sarcastic if you know you will probably die today?” I asked. “I know I will die. We’ve known we would have to fight this fight since we were pup. This is what we’ve been training for.” He explained. “You’re right, I just can’t believe it’s actually here.” I said. I walked over to my closet to get dressed. “Who do you think will win the title of Luna this time.” He asked, following me to the closet. “I don’t know. I think it will be Melissa, she’s strong and the council’s pet.” I said, as I picked out my clothes. “We are all the council’s pets, or have you forgotten bout these?” He said as he pulled on the collar around his neck. “How can I? Every time we disobey the council it sends a jolt of electricity thought our veins, that feels like knives cutting us up from the inside.” I said, putting my shirt on. We left the dorm room and went to the arena. Everyone was already there. We were about 5 groups of nine werewolves of each group. We were only the strongest 9 of our packs that got chosen to compete for Alpha. We payed careful attention to the fights to see possible weak point in our opponents attacks. About 2 hours into the fights it was my turn to go up. I walked into the ring, my fist opponent was Adam. He’s a big guy with black hair and brown eyes. He’s got big mussels and a six pack. He’s the one werewolf that all the females fall head over heals for except Jenna. Jenna is a blond she-wolf with green eyes and a slim body, and the only girl Adam wants to impress. The fight started with a bang. Adam hit me through the face and I fell to the ground. I could taste blood on my lips. I got up and returned the favor. He used his foot to trip me and I faceplanted into the ground. I rolled over and Adam sat on top of me and repeatedly hit me. I knew I was going to die cause nobody ever made it out of this ring alive. Suddenly the judge decided to let me live, for what reason I didn’t know, but it couldn’t be good. I got up and walked out of the ring, barely able to stand on my own two feet. Malcom came to find me after the match in the bathroom where I was busy washing the blood from my face. My scars had completely healed. I healed faster then the other werewolves. “Are you okay?” Malcom asked, as he had a worried look on his face. “I’m fine.” I said trying not to sound shaken by what just happened. “They let you live? Why what are they planning?” Malcom asked. “I don’t know but I’m not staying to find out. We are breaking out tonight.” I said in a voice just above a whisper so only Malcom could hear.
“How?” He asked looking at me confused. “Don’t worry I have it handled just tell the other to meet me in ring at midnight.” I said as I exited the room. I went to talk to Ash, one of the werewolves from a different pack. “Do you have what I came for?” I asked Ash as we sat on the bed in his dorm. “Yes, but you need to be careful if you and your group get caught it’s over for all of us.” He said in a serious voice. “I know Ash.” I said looking at him concerned. “Why do you look so worried?” He asked. “Will you be okay when we leave. What if they find out that you are the one who helped us escape, they’ll have you killed.” I said in a worried tone. “I’ll be fine. We’ll get out and come find you.” He reassured me. “Okay, we’ll see you on the other side.” I said as I left his room.
