Peniel The brim of my hat cast a shadow over my face as I tugged it lower, my voice barely above a whisper. "They know. One of them found out it was me who opened the hidden door," I said, my fingers curling into the rough fabric. "But they don't care. He thinks I did them a favor, helping him get closer to the Alpha's seat." Rael stood opposite me, his back leaning casually against the twisted trunk of an old oak, lips twisting into a smug smile. His laugh was low and lazy, like we had all the time in the world. "We’ve pulled in more than they realize. That hidden room... a vault of power no one's touched in decades. We’re almost there, Peniel. The Alpha’s seat is ours for the taking." My gaze drifted upward, beyond the dense canopy of trees, where the moon struggled to break through.
