Chapter 6

1758 Words
Panting, weakened, and confused, Max fell to his knees from that uncontrolled shaking that was happening to him. He could not understand why the incident continued to repeat in his mind, along with that unknown sensation that repeatedly plagued his thoughts. That adrenaline, intensity, and delight that he experienced were something he thought he’d only dreamed of. The entire feeling remained in his skin, crawling like little ants in parts of him, causing every inch of his body to have this itch that was taking all his strength to control. Not to mention it kept his c**k stiff and raging throughout this time. “f**k, what the hell did they do to me?” He slams a fist to the side on the ground, irritated that he could not explain what was developing in his thoughts, nor the entire incident that had just happened a while ago. That surge inside him was something new, immense, and drilling into his mind that it felt as if it was clawing its way within the deepest parts of his being. Then there’s also their reaction. From the moment their eyes turned white, to that wild and mindless acts. All of them scattering to have a taste of that liquid that came out of him. It bugged him why they would do such a thing, surprise that they would lay their hands on him in that way. There were so many things that made little sense that it cause his mind to be filled with several questions. Max continued pondering about this until he got home, that it caused him to move like a mindless dolt, walking lifelessly on the road, his legs moving on its own. Yet the minute that he realized he was in front of their house, his consciousness returned. He forced himself to smile, removing all traces of that experience beneath him, all so he could normally greet the person behind the door. “Hey there, son!” As radiant as ever, the man greets him with that warm welcome of his. His father was at their dinner table, putting down what looked liked salad and a hot loaf of bread. “Hi dad.” He says. Though his expression remained bored and straight, he was smiling within, seeing the person who was the reason he continued to be strong and sturdy all throughout those challenges. “You’re late today. Anything happened?” Lance Dullahan, being the observant man he was, quickly notice the weight and shadow that loomed around his kid the minute he walked inside. Though the teen remained with a stern look on his face, something was off in his actions at that moment that it did not escape him. “Nah, just got tied up with some schoolwork.” Once more, Max was quick to wave it off. With a fan of his hands, he tells his old man to not ask anymore as he walks to the stairs. Though it bothered him, Lance only kept an eye on the youth’s movement until he began going up the stairs. He frowned, noticing the weight and stiffness in the teen’s steps that did not make any sound as he moved. “You better get cleaned, dinners ready in about ten minutes.” Was all he could say, not wishing to delve too much into his child’s problem. He had always given the boy the leeway he needed, avoiding barging in too deep into the boy’s personal life. Besides that, he did not want to be like those parents that inquire about stuff that he knew his kid didn’t prefer to talk about. He’d rather gives bits of hints to lure him in to saying things than forcing himself. It has always been that way between them, but seeing how the boy was acting right now made him sigh. It cause him to think if his method of raising his son alone was correct, since he hardly opened up to him. So, all he could do was watch his child climb up those stairs without saying so much as a word. “Yeah, let me just take a shower.” This was the only reply Max could come up with at the moment. He’d wanted to avoid confronting his old man right now, knowing his dad. He would have noted anything that was worth pointing out on his actions. So he needed to calm himself down first, needing to erase that memory that has been haunting him. He decides it was best to wash it away under the extreme coldness of water, since it always gave him that peace of mind. The trickling of liquid touching his skin brought about that tranquility that he had longed for. Though his shaft continued to throb, remaining semi-hard, but a few minutes underneath the rush of icy stream was enough to keep it at bay. And after that, he could move about like nothing had happened, having buried it in the very depths of his mind. “Everything all right, kiddo?” That was the first thing that Lance could think of, the moment his son sat on his chair with that gleaming expression of his. It was too fast of a change for the lad, so he was certain that something might bother the boy. “Yeah, just had a rough day at school.” Max once again, wave it off. He knew his father already had a lot of things on his mind, and he didn’t want to add up to that. Besides that, he prided himself on the idea that the man did not raise him to be weak, that he’d let himself get affected by such a thing. “You sure.” Lance tried once more. He could not remove that fear from him, seeing that abrupt change in his child. The thought caused this throbbing in his chest, along with a slight weight on his shoulders. “Yup, nothing to worry about.” Same as before, Max shrugs his shoulder to prove that it there was not a problem at all. At that point, Lance surrendered and let it slide. He did not want to prod too much on his son’s personal life, since he did not wish to be like those parents that were too nosy. Instead, he trusted the boy’s own decision. But because of that, the two of them were quiet for at the start of their meal, having that awkward atmosphere around them. It was only until they hear the ringing from the kitchen that they had to pause, looking at each other with a frown on their faces. “Go on ahead, this will only be a minute.” His father wave a hand at him, ushering him to continue with his food, before wiping his mouth with a napkin and hurriedly going for the phone. Max let out a sigh of relief. He was caving in from the pressure that his dad was giving off. Though he wanted to admit what had happened, he can’t bring himself to look weak, especially since he was aware his old man would only end up becoming overprotective again. But there was a slight nudge of conscience in him, because he was keeping a secret like that, so he pondered on it a bit. His deep thoughts were only ended when he noticed the sudden loud voice of his father whilst in the kitchen, before it became a hush. He was quick to focus his attention on the words that he was saying. cause listening from that far was one thing he had learned at a young age. “Yes. What?” There was this slight trembling in his father’s tone at that time. “How many? Are you sure?” Followed by that sudden heave of relief. “All right. I’ll be there in a few minutes.” Then there was this surge of urgency in his voice that made it more intriguing. Upon noticing the approaching footsteps, Max was quick to fix himself in his chair, gobbling up a large portion of his food to show that he had been eating. When his father came out of the kitchen, he had this pale expression on him, sweating uncontrollably as he made his way to the stairs. “Did something happen?” He called out, noticing how his dad was rushing to go up that his old man almost tumbled down. “Nothing for you to worry about.” His father’s voice echoed from upstairs. But there was the noise of thumping and clanking on the floor, along with the shaking of the ceiling. It didn’t even take that long before his father descended, now fully clothed in a suit and tie. He continued to observe his old man as the guy moved to get his keys until he passed right by him. “Aren’t you going to finish your food?” Max could not remove that dread inside of him, sensing that something was wrong. It was too odd for his dad to be troubled by work that he would leave in the middle of their supper. It had never happened before, so it made it even more noticeable. Not to mention that the guy was carrying a weird suitcase with him right now. He’d never seen that bag before, let alone the badge that his old man was holding on to. The thing had a crest of a shield with two swords crossing. The insignia jolted something in his memory. Images of a crumpled elder laughing at him, along with a few other people surrounding him, wearing the same mark on the sides of their uniforms. It was only when his father moved to him that he woke up from that deep thought of himself. “An emergency came up. They need me at the office. Don’t wait up for me, and make sure to lock up, okay?” All he could do was nod his head. With a quick kiss on his forehead and a tight hug, Lance Dullahan was out of the door in minutes. Max could hardly bid farewell since his old man moved so fast that he could not compose any word to say. He was left there dumbfounded, pondering about that mark and the memory that flashed in his mind. The entire ordeal wiped out the dilemma that he was struggling with a while ago, as he could feel the chill in his bones, having the foreboding feeling that he had never had before.
