CHARLOTTE “I still can’t ask where we’re going?” Sonia inquired as we stepped into the car and fastened our seatbelts. I nodded in response, watching as she started the ignition and reversed the vehicle. I glanced at the back seat and smiled with relief, noting that she had listened to me and hadn’t brought any other guards along. I didn’t want to tell her why we were going there—it seemed silly to return to a place just because I had driven past it, felt something about it, and then saw it again in a dream.
