Chapter 4 : Jungle of Peril 3

Jane opened her eyes and blinked a few times before finally, she could see where she was. A jungle. Jane immediately got up in shock. She looked around her, which was full of trees and wild plants.

'Where am I?' Jane asked herself.

Next to her, there was a bow, arrows, and a bag. She opened the bag which contained a piece of bread, a lighter, a bottle of mineral water, a knife, and a small red bottle. Jane opened the bottle and smelled it.

'Wound healing medicine,' she thought.

She also just realized that the clothes she was wearing were different, as far as she remembered this was not the clothes she was wearing. Jane wore brown clothes and pants with pockets in several places. There was a black logo on the chest that read WIC Company. For Jane, this is more like a uniform.

Jane put them back in the bag and took those things away from there while still confused. She walked into the forest. Not long after, she heard noises not far from her. Jane walked towards where the sound came from.

"I don't know how we got here. I thought this was just a dream!" said Edward.

'Plaak'

"Awww! That's hurt. What are you doing?" Edward yelled.

Stacy hit him hard.

"Then it's not a dream, right!" Stacy looked at Edward with an annoying expression.

Edward snorted in annoyance.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Gia kept waking up Tony who was still sound asleep.

"He won't wake up!" Edward interjected.

"How do you have?" Gia asked seriously.

"Maybe he's already dead!" Edward replied.

'Plakk!'

"Awww!"

Stacy hit Edward for the second time. Just then, someone quickly came out of the bushes right near Edward.

"Aaaa!!"

Edward screamed while everyone looked at the newcomer.

"Hi, everyone," Jane greeted awkwardly.

"Who are you?" Edward asked.

"I am Jane." Jane extended her hand to shake hands.

Jane shook his hand, "I am … Edward."

"Okay. So, sorry for startling you guys. I don't know how I ended up here. The last thing I remember before being in this place is when I was sleeping in the dorm."

"So did we," Stacy said. "We woke up together in this place, except for Tony."

They looked towards Tony who was in Gia's lap and still had his eyes closed.

"Is he fine?" Jane asked as she approached and checked Tony's pulse.

"I hope so," Gia replied. "I am Gia, btw."

"And I am Stacy."

Suddenly Tony woke up choking!

"Tony!" Gia screamed.

Jane immediately took out water from her bag and gave it to Tony.

"Are you okay?" Stacy asked curiously.

"Yeah, I am good," Tony replied, then looked at Jane, "Thanks."

Jane smiled.

An arrow suddenly shot quickly towards them and stuck right on the tree behind Gia. Making the girl startled to freeze.

"Guys! I think we can't stay here," Edward suggested.

"Where are we? And what the hell is that?!" Tony looked confused.

"We have to leave immediately. Come on!" Edward said while carrying his sword.

Jane just realized that they also have the same clothes, weapons, and bags. It seems that whoever left them here. They also left supplies, and weapons for a specific purpose.

'Has the game started?' Jane asked herself.

They ran through the bushes and tall trees. While behind one by one arrows chased them.

"Watch out!" Tony yelled while running.

"Ah!!!"

"Edward!" Gia screamed when she saw Edward fall. An arrow managed to pierce his calf.

"Aaaaaa!" Edward kept screaming feeling the pain in his calf.

"Come on, Guys! Don't stop!" Tony quickly approached Edward with Jane, they helped him stand while the others kept running while occasionally looking back, "Are you okay, Bro?"

"No, that's f*****g hurt!" Edward closed his eyes while enduring the pain.

"Can you still walk? We can't stay here." Jane looked around them vigilantly.

Just then an arrow shot and pierced Tony's back to the front right in his heart.

Jane who saw the incident as fast as lightning was shocked to freeze. Tony's mouth spat out blood before finally collapsing to the ground.

"Tony. .. Tony!" Jane screamed while shaking Tony's body.

Tony died on the spot!

Jane shed tears. She was very shocked and scared. So was Edward, he was silent with shock.

"Come on. We need to go," Edward said with a trembling tone.

Jane picked a taro leaf nearby. She wiped Tony's face, making his eyes closed. Then she placed the taro leaf on Tony's face as a final tribute.

Jane went back to supporting Edward. Drizzle began to fall, followed by heavy rain. They had been separated far from Gia and Stacy.

"Hey, look at that!" Edward pointed to a cave.

"Great, let's take a rest in there."

They walked to the cave and went inside. The rain fell heavily, making Jane and Edward cold.

"Oh, f**k! I didn't sign up for this." Edward complained while feeling pain in his calf.

"Hey, don't give up. This is just the beginning."

"If it weren't for the $10,000,000 prize, I wouldn't apply to this f*****g stupid game! I'd better go to Mexico," Edward complained.

"So, your parents are in Mexico?" Jane asked.

"I don't have parents."

"What do you mean? All people must have parents. We aren't born from a rock, right?" Jane joked.

Edward smiled bitterly, "I grew up in an orphanage."

"Oh, umm… I am so sorry about that."

"That's okay. I am good. I want to go to Mexico to find someone. But suddenly a stupid email is coming to me and offering this crazy game!

"No one can refuse that prize." Jane stood up and lit a lighter for lighting.

Right then they looked around in astonishment!

"Holy s**t!"
