BJ dropped the ball and whined. Fortunately Bear had left the keys in the lock so Pete was easily able to open the door. Given his earlier sense of urgency, BJ didn’t exactly dash outside. Yes, it was still raining, although fairly gently. “Go on!” Pete pointed, teeth starting to chatter. He rubbed his arms and hugged himself as he watched BJ begin to sniff at a clump of grass.
