I landed early the next morning.
I hoped that Ileana hadn’t seen the article yet.
Ileana had been my best friend growing up. We had done everything together. We went to the same boarding in Switzerland, we went to school for arts in London and we both were suppressed by the men in our lives. The difference was I had fought my way out and Ileana had stayed and endured it, thinking it was just meant to be.
I loved her but we disagreed on this topic.
No one knew this but I had tried to get Ileana to runaway before the wedding. I had a get away car ready and everything…but Greyson had threatened her and she was too good hearted to say no.
And eventually Grey cut me out of her life completely.
