He got to the office to see Callum, who had been waiting for him two hours ago.
"Dude, I've been calling you since last night. Where the hell did you put your phone?" Callum said, following him into his office. "Who was the girl you took with you? Have you finally found your mate?"
"Which question do you want me to answer first?" Alex asked, walking towards his chair. He sat down and opened a file on his table.
"Why don't you start by telling me who you took with you last night? Who was the girl?" Callum sat in a seat opposite him. But instead of answering him immediately, Alex sighed, looking at him. "My mate is human."
Callum froze in shock. "Huh?! How's that possible? You found your mate, and you realize she's human?" He asked, unable to believe his ears.
"Shocking, right? Alex said, his eyes scanning through the paper in his hands. He didn't want to talk about it, but with Callum troubling him, he had no choice.
Silence followed for about some seconds until, Callum broke it. "Is she pretty?"
He received a hard glare from Alex, but he didn't stop talking. He smiled. "So, what are you going to do?"
"What am I going to do?" He dropped the file on the table and looked at Callum. "I'm going to stay away from that human. It's a good thing she left early in the morning before I could see her,"
"What?! She dumped you. I can't believe that," Callum burst into laughter but stopped when he received another glare. "OK, fine. You can't stay away from her when you know how long your wolf has been looking for a mate.
"I know, but how could my mate be a human? That’s forbidden." Alex said, followed by a sigh.
"Then would you prefer to stay alone for the rest of your life, or get married to whoever your mother chooses for you?" Callum replied, but Alex did not say anything. He only sighed in frustration and ran his hand through his hair, with his back resting in his chair.
No wolf could have a human as a mate, but here he was, an alpha with a human mate.
"Wait a minute! Did you mark her?" Callum asked, but he didn't receive any reply. Instead, he only heard a groan. "Looks like you've already found our Luna," Callum teased before leaving his office.

"Oh, my goodness! I'm so tired." She stretched her hands in the air. She had just applied for a job at Stewart Cooperation, and her interview had been scheduled for tomorrow at eight in the morning.
She checked her phone and saw that the time had gone by so fast. It was already five in the evening. She took her phone to call Sam, but he did not pick up.
She sighed. Her mind drifted to the saddening event last night. "Don't think about that, Ellie. She said to herself, before standing up to go get herself something to eat.
The next day, she quickly got ready and took a taxi to Stewart Corporation. It was a big company in the city, but not as big as the Warren Corporation. She wanted to apply to Warren, but she knew she might not be able to get in.
She entered the company and saw a young lady with heavy makeup behind the counter. "Good morning. I'm here for the interview." She said to the lady.
"You're five minutes late." The girl said without greeting her back or sparing her a glance.
"Stop wasting your time and join those people over there." She said, pointing to some people sitting down on a long chair. Ellie did not say anything. She went in the direction and sat down on an empty seat.
Just then, a lady with a baby face, probably in her early twenties, turned to her and said, "Hey! Are you also nervous?" She smiled at her. Anyone could easily tell that she was nervous. She rubbed her sweaty palms together.
Ellie smiled at her and said, "Well, I'm nervous, but not really. You shouldn't be nervous. I's just an interview. Just be yourself." She smiled, to which the lady also smiled back at her.
"My name is Christina." The lady introduced herself. "What's yours?"
"I'm Ellie. It's nice to meet you." She replied, to which they talked for some time until Christina was called in.
They both bid their goodbye. After a while, Ellie was also called in. She applied for the interview as a marketer.
"Ms. Ellie, please follow me." A woman said. She followed the woman and entered a room where two women and a man were sitting with pens and books on the table.
"Good morning." She greeted the people in the room, but only the woman in the middle replied, "So, Ms. Ellie, I can see you have good qualifications. Apart from your qualifications, why should we hire you?"
"Well, as a start, I have all the skills and work experience required for the job. Oh, and on top of that, I have experience working with tech companies, so I'll be able to pick up all the product specifics much faster than the other candidates." She smiled at the woman.
"Hmm, ok."
"Why did you leave your previous job?" The woman asked.
"Well. It's kind of personal," she replied.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Ellie, but you'll have to tell us why you left your previous job." The other woman in the room said.
Ellie looked at the woman and sighed silently before talking. "I had to leave because he always tries to trick and force himself on his employees." She was uncomfortable, but she had to talk.
"Oh! But he hasn't forced himself on you, so why leave?" The woman asked again. Her eyes widened at the response of the woman. It took a lot in her not to stand up and slap her, but she needed the job.
She was about to answer her when the second woman in the room said, "I think that would be all, Ms. Ellie. Expect an email from us in the next three working days." The woman knew that she was always like that, always trying to put interviewers in tight corners.
Thank you, ma'am." She bowed her head slightly before leaving the room.
