The next day when Pooja woke up, she felt the similar feeling of being watched.
'But who can watch you in your own house? You are just being paranoid, like always.' Pooja convinced herself like she does everyday from the past four years. Yes, from the past four years!
She got ready and went downstairs for breakfast. Her mother was preparing her favourite, poha (a dish made from rice flakes). It was her favourite because it was the tastiest for the tongue and the easiest for the hands. After all, Pooja doesn't like cooking.

Her mom served her the breakfast and she sat in Indian style on the floor. Yes, they still follow all the rituals of their ancestors, even though they have a big dining table. But it is for the guests.
When she was eating, Pooja's mother gently opened the topic of marriage. Pooja, being Pooja, told her mom that she will marry any guy chosen by her parents. Somewhere, Pooja knew that she can't study further. This is the farthest independence she could get in a country where three women are raped every hour. She was also praying that Subhash makes a move as soon as possible because she also started liking him.
On the other hand, her father was relieved. He was nervous because he knew that his daughter wanted to study further. He was afraid that there may be an argument on this topic. But he forgot that this is Pooja, not Priya.
Priya may argue but Pooja can never say no to her parents. Even when they were kids, Priya used to take the best bags and pencil boxes but Pooja used to never complain.
Nevertheless, later that evening, Subhash came with his parents because he wanted to marry Pooja.
Pooja's mom was overjoyed when she heard that they didn't want dowry. She immediately gave her blessings for the marriage.
Pooja's father, being the practical one, asked Pooja for her opinion and her blush gave him the answer. Later, he searched everything about Subhash like criminal records, drinking habits, drug consumption, academic growth, property, etc.
The very next day, he also said that he had no problem with this marriage. These are pros of an arranged marriages. 75% of the work is done by the parents. This ensures a perfect life partner for the children. They don't know anything about each other, but they at least know that he/she will be safe with their partner...
Pooja actually knew nothing about Subhash. Although they were of the same group, she was never open to any guy. Subhash, being the shy type, also didn't share anything with her.
Pooja was very happy with the alliance. She knew that this was the best partner she could ever get. She was happy, contented.
