The sun dipped lower behind the mountains, casting long shadows over the lot outside. The quiet of the evening felt unnatural, like the world was holding its breath, waiting for something to break. I sat at the window, watching the last traces of daylight fade, my mind heavy with thoughts I couldn’t shake.
Things had changed since the attack on the supply line. The tension in the clubhouse had grown, more pronounced than before.
