"Shall we play a game?"
My eyes jerked open, honing in the direction where the voice came from. But everything was covered in darkness, and not even a sliver of light penetrated the black veil where I was in.
"Tick, tock. Your time is running out."
Swiveling my body, I looked around. It was useless. I couldn't even tell up from down.
"Who are you?" I shouted, my voice echoing. Was I inside a cavern? Was I dreaming?
"Where am I? Answer me!"
When silence ensued, I willed my wolf to the surface and shifted, allowing my heightened senses to work. My ears picked up a set of footsteps, and I carefully trotted towards it.
