Chapter 48: Violet

The first sensation to register on me was the soft sheet beneath my body. The second was the scent. Burnt charcoal and ash filled my nose, and I opened my eyes to see an unfamiliar ceiling in an unfamiliar room. The scent was so strong that I gagged. I tried moving my arms and legs to stand up, but I found that they were tightly bound. Panic set in, and I struggled to free myself, making the bed shake. The door suddenly opened, and light streamed inside the dim room. A figure emerged from the other side, and the door closed again. The man approached me until I could finally distinguish his face. Luthar Von Accardi. "Let me go!" I screamed at him and renewed my efforts. Luthar made shushing sounds as his hands gently stroked my hair. He leaned over me, the smell of ash getting stronger
