Right. Left. Right. Left. With gritted teeth and clenched fists, I limped onward, away from Luthar and hopefully out of where they've locked me up. My muscles were sore, and I had multiple cuts and bruises from my tussle with that deranged man. The only thing that covered my exposed skin was a spare robe I found along the way. Still, I kept walking, counting my steps until I could keep the panic at bay. The corridors were quiet, the calm before the storm. It seemed no one had discovered that I'd escaped yet except Luthar. I passed by locked doors, with suspicious sounds permeating through the wooden panels. It made me shiver as my mind imagined what could be happening inside them, but I shook my head and kept my sight firmly on my goal. I needed to get out of here, fast. My ears picked
