"Aster!" I shouted, running after him with Nero close behind me.
Aster ignored us and continued towards the empty club. He kicked the door open, sending it flying inside the room. Its hinges were left hanging on the threshold.
"We shouldn't just enter so carelessly," Nero said after he managed to catch up with me. "We don't know if Vince has a backup waiting to ambush us."
"Unlikely," I replied, although I hiked my nose up in the air, scenting the room. The club had already been cleaned, and most of the smell came from the disinfectants. However, I caught hints of caramel and woodfire as we stepped inside. Aster's scent was moss and mushroom, while Nero smelled of wine. Obviously, the caramel came from Zia. That must mean Vince was indeed here.
