I open my eyes and for the first time in these past few days. I don’t dread the sight as soon as I wake up. I am happy, because before me is Hiram, sleeping peacefully. I move a little closer, snuggling, enjoying the feel of his warm chest close to me. He wraps his arms around me, kissing the top of my head. I feel so happy and whole.
