-Tinsley POV- “Oh come on Leon. Put me down.” We are already at the top of the stairs and he carries me bridal style. With Connor waving at us from the bottom of the stairs. “Nope.” He says as he carries me bridal style. “I’m making sure Daniel has a look at you because you don’t look good.” “I never thought you would say something like that to a woman Leon. That’s rude.” Someone says. Leon stops and turns towards a beautiful-looking girl. She has tanned skin and long dark wavy hair but her eyes are a soft ruby red and they even shine as a ruby does. I am mesmerized. (But what is she?) She seems and almost feels different. “Garnet...” Leon looks at her. His eyes roam up and down her body and I have to say, it bothers me a little though it shouldn’t because I just met the guy. “What is the occasion that you choose to look like that?” Leon asks. She wears a black fitted dress with lace around it, making her look super sexy. “My never endless attempts at seducing Marco but to no avail.” She says. “The man steers clear of me as if I was a demon after his soul.” She says. (She bluntly says that she is trying to seduce Marco?) “You don’t have your entourage with you today?” He asks. She sighs. “No. They won’t arrive until tomorrow.” She stares at me. “I deviated from the plan I had for him, to come and see what the fuss was all about. The Academy takes in humans now?” “She is not human. Long story but now, I have to take her to Daniel.” Leon says. The girl named Garnet visibly shivers. “Why on earth do they keep him as the in-call doctor.” Leon chuckles as he continues to walk with Garnet now at our side. “I get it. “Leon says. “He is too enthusiastic about his work sometimes but he is good and the best we’ve got.” “Well, I don’t care as long as he never gets his hands on me again.” Garnet says. “That man is a vampire disguised as a werewolf. He almost drained me of my blood last time I saw him.” She then looks at me and smiles. “You are a cutie.” She touches my hair. “We could have some fun sometime if you are into that.” I don’t notice that I have a wide eye expression as I stare at her. She starts laughing. “It’s just a thought sweetheart and if you are not into girls...” She winks at me. “I can change.” When she speaks that last part, her voice changes and it goes deep, sounding like a man. I gasp and both she and Leon laugh. “I am in love with her already. Bring her to the party.” She says to Leon and winks at us before she leaves. “Do I... ask?” Leon smiles. “In this school, you'll find that werewolves and vampires are what attend the academy the mots but then you have the rare supernatural's like Amy Wraith, a witch or, in Garnet’s case, a fairy.” “A FAIRY!” I shout out. “Yep.” He says with a smile. I can tell that my reactions amuse him. I am so confused. “But... she was so strange... I mean-” “Fairies can change gender at will.” “WHAT?” I shout again. “Garnet can turn to a girl or a boy. Whatever she, or he is in the mood for.” He says. “…” “But... she is a girl?” I ask. “No... yes... I have no idea.” He looks confused. “I think she-he is both but look, all I know is that I just don’t tap that.” I start laughing and so does he. I take a deep breath. “So, is there any other supernatural being I should know about?” “Nope. Not that I know of.” As he says that, his breath tickles my ear and I don’t know how I haven't noticed how close he has been to me. My arms are even wrapped around his neck to hold on to him. He is warm and I am now overly aware of his body against mine and where his hand's touch, though the big jacket on me acts as a shield. His left arm is on the back of my legs with his hand gripping my thigh. His right arm supports my back and the hand is almost centimeters away from touching the bottom of my breast. I was feeling cold a few minutes ago but now I feel like I am on fire. “Also...” he says. “... fairies are mischievous creatures by nature, so be careful with him... her.” I giggle. He smiles as he stops in front of a door and opens it. When we go in, I squint my eyes at him. “I thought we were going to see Daniel? Whose room is this?” He smiles as he lies me on a bed, his warmth leaving me and I feel a bit disappointed. “My room.” He says with a mischievous smile. “Leon!” He laughs. “Hey, I did tell you I was going to bring you and you never really said no.” He waves his phone at me. “I’m calling Daniel and Marco now.” “Seems you might be a fairy too because you are just as mischievous.” I mumble. He laughs. “That would make a lot of sense for my family being as crazy as they are.” He says. I cross my arms and lie down on the bed while he makes the call. (Trouble maker.) As he makes the call, I look around his room but my eyes quickly set on something that I am sure he forgot to put away before having anyone over. “Is that... is that a pocket... a pocket p***y?” I mumble. Leon’s body turns to me as he is still on the phone. He gives me a cheeky smile and then slowly goes to the end table where the contraption is on. He takes it and puts it in the drawer and I bite my lips, holding my laugh. He finishes the call and looks at me as I am about to burst into laughter. “I told you, we are very horny creatures.” He says with his face red. I start to laugh and he joins me. Now we are both uncontrollably laughing. I am surprised at how naturally comfortable I feel with him. I would be in an awkward silence by now with anyone else. “Hey, I have other things, you want to see?” He asks. “No thank you.” We start laughing again. I take a deep breath, controlling myself. “So, you have toys but I mean, I doubt you have any problem finding... company.” “I don’t sleep around if that is what you are asking.” He says crossing his arms and staring at me. I look at him up and down. “That is surprising. Most guys that look like you would be taking advantage of that to get some.” “Na, that brings too many problems. I have indulged in the occasional night with a woman but I rather wait for my mate.” “Mate?” I ask. I can feel the cold returning and I start shivering. He nods and sits on the bed next to me but covers me with a blanket when he sees me trembling. And then he goes on to explain what a mate is. “A mate is someone our wolves choose. A lover that we spend the rest of our lives with. Think of it as a soulmate. Our wolves can recognize a soul that is perfect for them. It can either be the wolf spirit or the human soul. Kind of like their other half.” “Like penguins?” His face scrunches, baffled. “They choose a partner for life.” I say. “Yea... but we aren’t penguins.” I squint my eyes at him. “I know.” He smiles and continues. “After they choose a mate, they imprint and then they mark each other.” I am confused with everything he said but that marking part sounds ominous.  “Mark each other?” I ask. “Yes. We werewolves are very territorial so we mark our mates to let other werewolves and creatures know that their mate is claimed by them and it means that they belong to the werewolf that marked them, to each other. The mate bond becomes permanent. When we mark someone, we want no one else but our mates.” I am quiet listening to him and this fairy tail crap. But I know he can see my skepticism. “I am not saying that some wolves don’t cheat... they can. But our instinct is to be with our mates and only them, to want only them, to be completely head over heels for them.” He says. “It sounds really nice but... to be honest, out of everything I have learned the last few days, this is the thing that sounds like bull s**t to me.” He smiles and closes his eyes as he nods. “I get it. You didn’t grow up with this notion and you haven't seen two mated werewolves and how they act with each other. All you know is of the human way of doing things.” “Yes, and male humans are the worst.” I say. “Bad experiences huh?” I nod but I won't elaborate on that. I don't’ even want to speak about that fucker, Kale. The asshole tried to sell me to his friend for one night. That’s what you get when you date good-for-nothing men from the streets. I know not all men are like that and I met a few decent guys out there but that fucker burned me so bad that I never gave any of them a chance. But I like to think that I have healed since that. I don’t see men as my enemy anymore though it takes a bit for me to trust them now. Luckily, Marco and Daniel arrive and I don’t have to talk about it. “What happened?” Marco quickly asks. Leon responds before I can. “She is not feeling well and I am sure she had a dizzy spell.” Daniel walks over to me. “Do you have chills?” I nod. “I am sweating but I do feel really cold and I can’t stop shaking. I also feel nauseous.” He nods. “Your body is just used to the medication you were taking and stopping it so abruptly is going to make you sick.” (I’ve seen this before on some of my— not friends because I steered clear of them whenever I could— street acquaintance when they couldn’t get a fix. Withdrawal symptoms.) “I am going to give you medication for the symptoms you are having and a sedative to help you rest. You might be feeling like this for a few days but once your werewolf tolerance kicks in, you’ll be feeling good as new. I don’t expect this to be a human scenario.” “And what does a human scenario entail?” I ask. “In bad cases, drug detox.” He says. I cringe. That is not something I want to experience. I cringe again when I see Daniel preparing an injection. I start to take my jacket off, revealing my white low-cut shirt that reveals a bit of my cleavage. My eyes dart to where I feel eyes staring at me, Leon. His peering eyes don’t leave my breast. My eyebrows raise and I wait for him to notice that I have caught him. When he meets my eyes, he gives me a sheepish smile but he doesn't look sorry at all and I just shake my head. When Daniel gets close to the needle, I look away. I hiss when he administers the medication and I want to curse at him so bad but I hold it in. I lower my sleeve but then Daniel takes another syringe out and my eyes widen. “More!” “Yes, one more.” I groan and whine. When he is done, he looks around the room. “Are you staying here?” He asks. “NO.” I quickly say. “Alright well, then you should go to your room and rest.” I nod, already starting to feel sleepy. “Take her to her room.” Marco says to Leon. “I will.” When Marco and Daniel leave, Leon wraps the sheets around me and picks me up like that. I feel really relaxed and almost out of it. I am starting to giggle and I am so tired that I start to feel like I am drunk. I am sure it is the sedative kicking in. “You get a good night's rest, okay?” He says. I give him a big smile. “Okay. You are so soft.” I lean on his shoulder and he chuckles. “You rest too... or are you going to go play with your p***y now?” I ask. My eyes widen, unable to believe what just came out of my mouth but the sleepiness I feel is stronger. Leon busts out laughing. My eyes close and I can’t remember what happened next. I am pretty sure I fell asleep on my way there because the next thing I knew, I was waking up tucked in my bed and daylight was coming from the window.
