MARIA POV That Monday morning, I woke up with a smile, thinking back on the evening I’d spent with the twins. It had been nice. Actually, more than nice—I felt genuinely happy. Their sweet, easy-going side was hard to resist, the side that didn’t suffocate me with possessiveness. They had been on their best behavior, giving me a new start, a break from their usual intensity. Too hot to be good, I thought, but for now, it was enough.
