The next dawn was a new beginning. It was early in the morning. Sweet chirping of birds filled the atmosphere.
"Wake up.. Alok.. Wake up" Amanya called him from the kitchen.
"di.. let me sleep for a while, just a minute.. please.."
"No. You have to take these sweets to the market as early as possible. Get up."
He sat up and slowly lowered his blanket with an innocent smile. He washed up and finished his breakfast, hugged her and marked the village. It was a long way for him as they lived in the outskirts of Dashur. He turned back and waved at his di who was standing in the doorstep bidding him farewell.
All that happened in a few days felt like a dream for him, to be precise a nightmare; unreal. But he has decided to bury the past, a promise given to his di before departing from Sayyonee. As his di told him patience is the biggest weapon and what he have to do is wait. He thought. For that we had to make a new identity and she chose the funniest for the situation- a baker living in the outskirts of the city, and me, her only brother.
He reached the village in an hour. It was a small market with few shops. He sold the sweets in a shop as directed and bought some daily necessaries in return. On his way he interacted with the villagers and made a friendly bond with them. On his way back, he felt proud of himself.
' I can follow their plans easily. Of course I will. I am the younger brother of the commander. I won't disappoint her,' he boasted in heart. But what amazed him most was cobras. Within one night they were able to form a new identity in a foreign country, impressing as they lived up to their name; he smiled.
"di.. I am back" He waited for a while but she didn't answer. He heard some noises from the backyard so hurried only to see his di feeding some wild pigeons. He couldn't resist enjoying the peacefulness in that sight. He sat beside her. A pigeon even sat on her shoulders and she played with it. "We are trained at befriending pigeons." She said calmly in a tacit note.
"di.. why do we have to buy from the market?"
"It's called preparation."
"I got it, '' he rolled his eyes in a deep thought process. And di, I interacted with the villagers. I never knew you can be such a good cook, they asked about you. I told them you are an introverted person and don't like to mingle with others."
"Good."
Days passed by and they lived there for almost a week. Amanya has a new identity as Apeksha and Alok have adapted to their place. They are now acknowledged by the villagers as sweet siblings even though they have not seen her. Her pigeons pass the borders with daily information without fail. Cobras have spread their web everywhere in Dashur and all the eyes are waiting for the new court judge.
It's almost night. They reached the town of Dashur. After a long and tiring journey they decided to rest and checked in near a hotel.
"Finally we reached Dashur. Bruddah, what's your next plan?"
Dhak.. Dhak.. They heard a knock.
