The First Mate

Chapter Fifteen

The little two-piece my mates had chosen for me was something I'd have been too shy to wear normally.

A half-top halter neck and pleated mini skirt in a shining black fabric showed the markings on my thighs and neck, displaying them for anyone who decided to look.

In the two hours we'd been here, my mates had knocked out at least six other males.

One of them grabbed my tail, Xavier booting him out the second-floor window when he found him, a claw mark across the guy's face and a broken jaw from me.

After him, the males had seemed to understand I wasn't here for their enjoyment.

I returned from the packed kitchen, waving my fingers at Tobie and Lisa who were sitting on the bench drinking, going to find my mates outside by the pool on white lounges with the Captain of the other team, Damien, his Beta and Delta as well as Quade and Finn.

I handed the bottles I had stacked between my fingers to each of them, keeping my own.

Theo tugged my wrist, pulling me into his lap.

I giggled as he nuzzled into my neck.

"Baby! I'll spill my drink!" I giggled, trying to sit up, my ass brushing across his crotch teasingly as I moved and curled my tail onto my lap, turning to talk to Finn about a camping trip we'd decided to plan together for the end-of-year celebration with our class.

Damien regarded me again with a dark gaze, drunkenness glazing his eyes as he sipped his beer and watched me.

His eyes flashed when I moved my legs to let Finn pass me to get us another round of beer. Dane's hand touched my leg, and I couldn't stop my legs opening just slightly for his hand to slide lower.

Damien's eyes flared, seeing the black underwear that barely covered me.

Dane snarled. "Keep staring." His eyes bore into Damien's.

Damien smirked as my thighs tightened at the noise. "Are you warning me to stop?" He raised a brow at Dane. "Or asking me to keep staring?"

Xavier shrugged, rolling the bottle between his hands. "Keep going and find out."

Damien chuckled a hard noise. "She's worth a broken jaw." His eyes pinned me.

My ears flattened and my hands raised my tail to cover my exposed stomach.

His brow twitched. "f**k, she's cute." He looked at Theo behind me before he saw the possessive look in Xavier and Dane's eyes, all of them growling at him. "You three really her mates?"

"Yes." Dane clipped.

Damien's mouth twisted with consideration. "Not what I've heard." He sipped his beer, leaning back, seeming done with staring at me.

"What does that mean?" I asked.

He gave a hard laugh. "Means someone's claiming you're theirs." He raised his hands, showing his neck when my mates all snarled at him. "Don't kill the messenger."

My brows narrowed at him. "Jordon's hiding out here." It wasn't a question, the look in his eyes told me I was right.

He shrugged. "He was. Not sure where he is now."

"But his parents are here." I snarled.

Damien's eyes widened, his Beta and Delta's heads snapping up at the sound.

He met my mates' eyes, smirking. "She's feisty. No wonder Jordon says she's his mate."

I growled at him, baring my teeth and stood up from Theo's lap. "That is a lie!" Annie rose, wanting to rip his throat out for even saying it.

Damien's eyes narrowed. "So, he has no claim on you?" I stepped around the table between us, pushing Annie down enough to not s***h him from groin to throat.

I held out my left wrist, turning it in the light so he could see the blue scar. "That's his claim on me. You're a Wolf; you should recognise a slave mark; he gave it to me the night I Shifted." I hissed at him.

I showed him the three more on my other arm. "He and his parents gave these to me the day I came into their home. I was five years old. He was six and he was the one who suggested it."

Damien's face was pale as I was suddenly in his face, my rage flaring.

"So, tell me again! Why I shouldn't kill you?" Xavier grabbed my waist, pulling me away from Damien.

"Calm down." He growled at me.

"No!" I struggled against him, slipping his grip only to slam into Dane.

He grabbed my arms, spinning me with ease and held me to his chest, his breath hot in my ear.

"You want him dead, you say the word." He growled at me. "But you will not fight an Alpha male."

I growled. "Fine, I'll fight you." I slammed my elbow into his ribs, making him release me and ran.

I made it past the kitchen, Lisa raising for a moment in panic before she saw my wink.

I opened the front door and ran out. Theo's arm caught my waist, and I was pulled back against the doorframe, his arms pinned either side of my head.

I growled in pain.

"Enough, Rosie." He snapped at me.

"Make me!" I snapped back, ducking low to slip under his arms.

Xavier stepped out of the house, grabbed me and pinned my back to his chest, grabbing my tail.

I snarled, elbowing him.

He just took it, carrying me to the car.

I tried to slip his grip again, managing to turn in his arm as he put me down.

He grabbed my throat and slammed my back into the car door.

I grunted, baring my teeth at him.

He leaned down, baring his own at me. "You're being reckless, Tiny!" He snapped at my face, I whimpered and ducked my head back.

"I'm angry!" I shoved at his chest with my hands.

He locked my wrists in one hand, sighing and pinned my hands against the car, arching me back.

I growled, knowing I was pushing it. "Let me go, I want to let Annie out."

He snapped at me again, his hand squeezing my throat. "Not here!"

Annie growled at him.

His eyes flashed, squeezing my throat hard enough I moaned a whimper.

"Growl at me again, Roseanne." He warned.

My eyes met his and I bared my teeth.

His hand squeezed off my growl, pulling me off the door to open it and throwing me across the backseat.

He yanked my tail with a clawed hand to flip me to my stomach, I yelped, raising to my knees to present my ass for him.

He pulled his belt from his jeans.

I shuddered a whimper, lust pooling down my thighs, joining the rest that had gathered as I made my mates chase me.

Theo and Xavier laughed at us as Dane opened his eyes at me, taking a sleepy breath in and stretched.

"Oh, so our little Rosie is a space cadet?" He teased.

I giggled. "How else do you think I dealt with Devonvale for four years? There's nothing to do there but become a certified cadet." I considered for a moment. "Though I haven't been to orbit since Annie joined."

Xavier laughed, wiggling beneath me to make me bite off a moan. "It's helpful for us from time to time, even if we get a bit hungry."

Lisa caught onto our conversation, smiling and turning. "Having powerful as s**t Shifter, weed helps dull some of the senses for a bit, but our appetites go crazy."

I shrugged. "Perks of being mated to a chef." I nuzzled back into Xavier's arm. "We always have food."

They all laughed at me, but they knew I was right.

Xavier and I separated subtly as we climbed out of the car; I winked at him, heading upstairs with Lisa to set her up in the office while they prepped the lounge room den for us.

I showered, Dane, coming in to find me clothes to wear of his.

I gave him a guilty smile. "I'm sorry I tried to start a fight."

He chuckled, cupping my neck after he pulled his jumper over my head. "I enjoyed it." He hovered above my lips.

"I hoped you would," I admitted, meeting his eyes through my lashes.

He tilted his head at me. "You seek my approval, little one?"

I bit my lip but nodded. "I know an Alpha needs someone strong beside them."

He chuckled, stroking my jaw with his thumb. "I only need you, Rose."

I looked up at him. "But-"

His thumb pressed into my lips, his eyes boring into mine. "I am strong enough for the both of us," he moved his thumb, kissing me gently. "I need you to be you, that's what makes me stronger."

I tangled a hand into his hand, the other grabbed his shirt and I tugged him to my lips.

"I may never stop kissing you," I said to him.

"Good," he growled. "Don't."

I refused to let him go and devoured his perfect lips with every ounce of love I could, until Lisa was screaming my name at the bedroom door, saying Dane and I had been missing for an hour.

We'd fallen to the floor in a tangle of teeth, tongue and lips, his hand under my shirt and mine in his hair.

Dane growled, but pulled us to our feet, grabbing my hand.

"Come on, before I f**k you and Lisa bitches about that noise." He opened the door, Lisa glaring at him as he smiled at her.

"I heard that." She grumbled, crossing her arms.

He flicked her nose as we passed, I mimicked him, running down the stairs when she squealed at me and started to chase me.

"Save me!" I squeaked as I dove for Xavier, who sat in the den; he grunted when he caught me, laughing.

Lisa laughed. "Cheater!" She sat down across from me.

I smiled, snuggling into Xavier's lap as Theo sat beside him and Dane on the other side. "Never! I'm a rule bender!"

She laughed again.

"You two are dorks." Xavier chuckled.

"Well," I pouted, moving into Theo's lap, his arms and legs widening to happily accept me. "I know whose lap I'm not sitting on tonight."

He laughed, slapping my ass.

Lisa rolled her eyes. "I would have been the safest option."

"Are you sure?" I narrowed my eyes at her, getting to my hands and knees and crawled across the den at her, my ears and tail forming and my aura pushed.

Her eyes widened, a flash of lust filling them. "Ro,"

I giggled; Xavier grabbed the back of my shirt and pulled me into his lap.

"Stop teasing her." He chuckled.

Lisa blinked, shaking her head as the lust settled before she looked at me incredulously. "What kind of bitchcraft was that?"

I winked at her. "Foxen kind."

Theo rolled his eyes, lighting the joint he'd rolled, taking a deep inhale and handing it to me, smiling when I took it.

He exhaled. "Foxen have a natural pheromone in their auras when partly shifted." He explained, turning to Lisa while I took an inhale and then held it up for Xavier.

"Why?" She asked, raising a brow as she took the joint from Dane.

I giggled, shrugging. "Who wants to fight me when I'm so cute?" I twitched my ears at her.

She choked for a moment laughing. "You're an idiot."

I stuck my tongue at her. "And you're my friend, like chooses like."

She laughed and opened a bag of chips, settling back. She looked at Xavier.

"What're you doing about Jordon?" She asked.

I felt my mates tense.

"None of your -"

"Oh, shut up." She sighed. "Is my friend safe or not?"

Dane narrowed his eyes at her. "Yes."

She nodded, satisfied with that for now.

We continued to smoke.

Annie enjoyed the sensation of being high, finding it easy to relax and stretch out.

Xavier made me cupcakes while Theo and Dane hugged me as we chatted and giggled, stoned as hell and talking about complete nonsense that made my heart feel light and carefree.

Lisa went to bed after we ate half the tray of cupcakes; Theo scooped me up and took me to bed with the rest of them.

We smoked another joint together in bed, Dane putting on Stargate for us to cuddle up and watch.

Dane crawled across the bed, handing me a glass of water and painkillers.

"I'll be-"

"Downstairs if I need you." I waved him off. "According to Xav, I'm not allowed to."

Theo spanked me and I gave him a whimper.

"Don't make use break our own rules, Rose." He growled, squeezing my ass.

I pouted and climbed back into bed.

"I'm sorry, my Triad," I said in a sooky voice.

They all gave rough chuckles, Theo and Xavier wrapping their arms around me as we settled in to watch Stargate.

"I love you," I said to them all.

"We love you." They echoed, making me smile.
