Chapter 1The new world…
Adamas woke in a remote part of a wooded area where he lay near a giant twisted tree with a body that was so large it looked as if it had multiple trunks all growing together. The many roots resembled fingers that grew out of the mossy ground hiding a brilliant light that shone from within its circle. While lying there, he felt his stomach growl with hunger, and looked around for something edible. From within their dark hiding places he found wild mushrooms growing and grabbed them, almost desperately shoving them into his mouth. They tasted of dirt and moisture, but was somehow satisfying. Now, after the strange meal, his stomach became silent. He didn’t feel exactly hungry, just empty, like part of him was gone.
