There were a lot of trainees who failed, well, not entirely failed, but unlike what Mikael had done earlier who clearly blown the minds off of the trainees because this certain trainee had just been leveled with the other regular agents who had done the obstacles.
The following trainees who took the obstacles had just embarrassed themselves following Mikael. They were either taking more than four minutes and sometimes six minutes but never less than three. They were all getting bruises either because of the bowling balls that were hitting them that they failed to avoid that would cause a really painful hit on their faces since they were crawling while under the heavy net, or would let go of the bars, sometimes they would even be injured from jumping from the high walls especially if they didn't know how to land properly and lessen the force.
There were nurse-agents on standby though, they knew the obstacles could be hard and dangerous especially with trainees who had no experience. They would immediately pull the injured trainees and tended to them, some with sprains, broken bones, rescued from the cold, cold pool, the broken face from the bowling balls.
They were having a hard time, no matter how much they tried imitating Mikael's determination, they still couldn't just get through easily. Mikael was just sitting on the side with his arms on his head and watching as the trainees failed with their attempts, though they could finish, it was rather with painful injuries that he never experienced.
The next one though was his acquaintance—George—the boy who had come into the dorm first because of his extraordinary strength of lifting the weights that he had a hard time lifting. He was stretching in front of the starting line, making his bones cracked. He then got ready, leaning with his hands on his knees while he looked and waited for the timer to start.
When the agent shouted start, he immediately slipped inside the net and crawled like a fast crocodile, avoiding the bowling balls easily. However, one got him on his finger which made him groan, but that wasn't enough to stop him. He took the flag and run toward the wall, since he was kind of tall and his body was thin and light, with just a few steps, he managed to get onto the top. Imitating Mikael's move, he jumped and rolled.
Not wasting any more seconds, he jumped on the monkey bar consecutively.
"Woah! He was like a real monkey!" one exclaimed upon seeing him jumped without a stop, using both of his hands to grasp the bars, full of confidence, and held every yellow bar until he was at the end now with a huge smile.
However, this was where he took his time. He was not used to holding any long-range weapon, and his eyesight sort of failing him so he was having a hard time with targetting. Nonetheless, with a few seconds and grasping the situation, he got to take down all the targets.
"Two minutes exactly," the agent announced, and he was the next person after Mikael who completed the obstacle without concussion.
"Nice one," Mikael praised and high-fived George who came to his side and sat beside him, having granted to rest while everyone was still going to have their lucks tested.
The next was Lance, he did fairly well as well, only having a hard time with the monkey bars that it almost slipped his hand and he almost fell on the water which he gladly managed to hold tightly using his one hand and then continuously clung tightly.
Overall, he got the two minutes and ten seconds.
The next impressive one that had everyone's mouth fell on the floor was Leira. She was like a cat, she moved so smoothly, and even when she fell from the ten feet high wall, she landed so swiftly and did not need to roll because her lean figure and light body could handle the weight of the fall.
She then ran rapidly to the monkey bar which what he did next shocked everyone. She jumped on the first bar, swung her feet high until it buckled onto the next yellow bar then let go of her hands which made her in an upside-down position, but she bent her back too easily like she was in some sort of yoga or a pole dancing until she reached the other yellow bar and repeated the same process.
In the last course, it only took her five seconds to put those targets down, everything was on point, everyone had their mouths agape as the timer stopped, and was surprised that this kind of girl actually existed.
"One minute and thirty seconds! Level with one of the top agents!"
Series of noises in awe were heard upon the revelation that she was leveled with the top agents when it comes to this obstacle, and even the regular agents present were surprised that a trainee recorded to be one of the best. What else this woman could do?
"You're so cool, Elleira!" Hera exclaimed with obvious admiration in her eyes, even jumping and clapping her hands because of how cool she did back there.
"Stop calling me with my full name, Grace," Leira answered back while walking beside her, she nudged her with her shoulder a little with a force that caused her to move in front involuntarily, "You go next, show me what you've got, clumsy."
"Hey! I'm not clumsy!" she said with a scowl, "And don't call me with my second name, Dream!"
Leira just rolled her eyes, "You called me with my full name then my second, do you want to break a bone?"
"Before you do that, let's see Miss Hera's capabilities without a break on her bone first," the agent interjected, pointing his hand to the starting line and urging Hera to go there now as she would be the next.
"This puts pressure on me, you know. Leira was so good," she complained but walked toward the starting line too.
Andrea, however, was just on the side. She had been observing the courses, she knew to herself that she wasn't that athletic, and she was nothing compared to Leira who really was impressive just by her figure. These courses were easy though, if not for that they were against time.
Hera finished rather quickly as well, only getting a slight concussion when the heavy bowling ball rolled on her foot and when she landed on the other end of the wall, she was hesitant which led to a bad fall, but nonetheless, she had a strong determination so she continued. She still finished under three minutes though. Two minutes and twenty seconds to be exact.
"Not bad," Leira commented to limping Hera, chuckling as she rolled her eyes at her and slumped on the floor, mumbling curses for her broken fingers on her foot.
Andrea was then who volunteered as next. She changed her glasses into her packed contact lenses, tied her hair into a ponytail, and made sure no strand of hair would disturb her from finishing this. As soon as the agent pressed the timer, she dove on the floor like she was swimming and used the smooth floor to glide and would roll on the other side of the bowling balls was coming.
She had her own strategy with the courses, she had been observing the others and taking note of the strategies that might be applicable with every course, and apparently, she chose the best. She was using her mind rather than just watching.
But even though with her witty strategies, if her strength was lacking, it was still not enough. She finished the end within two minutes as well, she had a hard time on the monkey bar where the trainees were usually taking their time as it really was hard to lift their weights, but the rest were just pretty easy for her.
Unbeknownst to them, they were being observed closely by the top agents inside the main agency on the huge screen. Dale was seated while the other five were standing behind her, hands crossed on their chest and watching and wincing with them whenever the trainees would be hit by the bowling ball, would fall from the top, would fall on the cold, cold water, and would miss the targets that were supposed to be down with only five shots.
However, even though with the immense failures of the trainees, the six knew better than to judge them that early. They were still trainees, and they were also like that when they were starting. But once again, as much as the people inside that training room were in awe of these certain trainees, they were as much as impressed because to think that they just did the obstacle in that day, they managed to be leveled with the record of the top agents, and it was kind of challenging them because they knew, they would be furtherly going to be better than them in the future.
"Your record, Black, was beaten by the gangster-looking boy Mikael, while Gold's was leveled with the cool girl Leira. Leira was the top in this test, followed by Mikael, then George, Lance, Andrea, and Hera, then the rest had disappointing results," Dale told them while looking at the tally board on the other computer where the ranking of who had the shortest time of finishing it was shown.
"They were pretty good, especially the girl. Sorry to you guys though, she'll be mine soon," Laura proudly said, grinning boastfully at them as if telling them to back off because she would claim what's hers while she lived.
"They were all pretty much determined to be agents which drive them to continue and do better," Sean observed, "Seeing them now, we know the agency would equip into a more solid agency, just like what Hermes wanted."
"Hermes wanted a new round of top agents though, choosing from these kids," Reign spoke while looking at her newly manicured golden finger, "He's more ambitious than we think. Probably he was lurking around the country again for the third batch of recruitment."
Dale scoffed, "I hope not. I will make sure he'll handle these kids and not lass another task on us."
"But right now, we could say that he chose the best batch of the future agents right now. He wasn't just choosing all the stray kids around the country, he chose kids with heart and potential, and we could see it through the training,' Warren concluded, mentally praising Hermes for being good at choosing kids to be future agents.
" And right now, his future top agents was materializing with this six kids right now," Dale said while her eyes were fixed onto the faces of the top six that were in the ranking.
"They would be the future of agents, and the future of the agency."
