A flickering light shone in the darkness. Selene watched it, fascinated, intrigued by its glimmering beauty. It shimmered like a star scintillating through the turbulence of a planetary atmosphere. It grew brighter as if she were flying towards it, although she felt no sensation of movement, no rush of atmosphere on her face. She thought she knew what the light was. It was an old story, one told throughout the galaxy in one form or another. Strange, she"d always assumed it was merely that: a story.
