Meeting in Tokyo

Chapter 8 - Ageha At the dinner table, it was the first time I saw everyone in days, but the atmosphere wasn't nice at all with the dire silence that was there with us as if someone had just passed away, and which I knew so well... No words being spoken by anyone as they continued to eat in the most perfect quietness that could exist, and it was extremely freak to me. ... I wanted to do something to break it, but I didn't know what I could say while my hunger seemed to disappear in between everything that was going on... The hour seemed to pass slowly by back in my room as I waited for everyone to go to sleep, hoping he would go down later. Something I had learned about Yukihiro, was that he always went to the kitchen in the middle of the night when he was at home, and on some days that I stayed up working on my new projects until late at night, I could listen to him, going downstairs. ... And tonight, it was probably around three in the morning when I heard the noise of the stairs... I was so engrossed in the book I was reading because I was almost in the end that it was the sound that reminded me of the little mission I had given to myself. So after waiting a few minutes, I went after him as if I were a child looking for my birthday present downstairs. "Did you get hungry, too?" Yukihiro asked me as soon as I entered the kitchen. His smile beautiful as always, making me feel like I would melt at any moment. "Actually, you must be. You hardly ate anything at that 'wonderful' dinner from tonight." Like everyone else in that house, I believe he thought I couldn't hear his comment, which was loud and clear to my ears. "Yeah, I seem not to be able to get any sleep tonight, so I decided to come down and drink something to see if it helps me fall asleep." Without even blinking, I blatantly lied just to be there with him. "Well, I'm making myself some tea. Do you want some too?" He said, showing me the mug in his hand. "Yes, of course! I would love to." A little happier than I should be, I answered him without even asking what kind of tea he was making to us. ... I could drink almost all the kinds of tea I had tasted until today, but I really didn't like it when people mixed it with milk...    "Do you want milk or sugar in yours?" See! There was a terrible question. "No, thanks. I prefer mine without anything." Taking the mug from his hand, allowing my fingers to brush against his skin a little longer as I take it, I told him before I saw him put some sugar in his. "I see, your taste is just like Seiichi-san's." For a second, I thought about asking him who Seiichi was before I remembered that it was my father's first name. Having nothing else to say, I just smiled at his comment, and I swear I could pass out from the smile he gave me back. ... He was just so handsome and mine... "Well, I think I better go to sleep now, as I still need to go to Tokyo tomorrow," Yukihiro spoke after washing his mug, and I just wish we could stay together for a little longer in there." "Are you going to Tokyo tomorrow?" It should be the fate helping me when he nodded, confirming it." What a coincidence, me too! " Although my voice once again sounded a little more cheerful than it should have been, it wasn't a lie. I needed to speak to my publisher tomorrow, and as I forgot to give her my new address, I arranged a meeting in her office as I wanted to meet a friend from high school in Tokyo too. We would see each other later in Shibuya after my meeting. "You too? Do you need a ride? I'll go there around 2 pm, and Samantha will go with me too since she'll be going to this fancy salon in there or something like that." He kindly offered to me, and I wanted to accept it so badly, but I couldn't.At this time, I should already be in Tokyo, and honestly, considering that I would leave home early so I can do everything I planned before meeting with my editor, I should already be asleep right now. "I wanted to be able to accept, but my meeting there is at 2h," I told him sadly before thinking about anything. "But at what time are you coming back? Maybe we can meet later." "I will probably finish everything I need to do there around 6:30 pm or 7:00 pm while Sam's not sure yet, she's going to confirm it tomorrow if she will sleep at her friend's house or not." IT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER!!! "I don't know about Samantha, but after my meeting, I will meet a friend I haven't seen in awhile in Shibuya to eat something and buy some stuff, and we should be done around 6:30 pm too." As terrible as it sounds, I could only hope that my cousin slept at her friend's house after doing whatever she was going to do in Tokyo. "Shibuya?" This time, I was the one who simply nodded in reply to his question. "This is perfect for me too, as I will be close by on my way back," His words made me want to scream right there, even though I knew I couldn't since I would end up waking up the entire house if I did it. "So it's planned. I'll see you tomorrow in Shibuya, but we better go to sleep now." With a light laugh at the end, he spoke before leaving the kitchen, only to return in the middle of my little celebration that I hoped he hadn't seen. "I just remembered that it will be impossible for us to meet if I don't have your number." "Right, my number..." Making me look like an i***t again, I mentioned, taking the cell phone out of his hand to add my contact, and using it to call myself, so I could add his number to my contacts too. "Well, now we can say it is planned." He said, taking his cell phone back before putting his hand on my head, stroking my hair as he said good night.   ... Heart racing in my chest, and again I could only hope that he couldn't hear it too while I thought it would be hard for me to fall asleep tonight with all the happiness that I was feeling... I could only hope that tomorrow arrived soon!
