(Millenium’s POV)
Did she just hang up on me? No one dares to hang up on their Alpha. Was I truly her Alpha though? Knowing she was human; I chose not to initiate her into the pack. It was a painful process for a wolf, I am sure it would kill a mere human. She did smell like the Snow Mountain Pack though. Probably because she has lived there for so long.
If this phone call was a ploy to get me home, I would kill her on the spot. I didn’t care if her parents were friends with mine and I didn’t care that her pack was alleys with mine either. To joke about something that will set both our parents off, is one way to tick me completely off. I already didn’t like to be in her presence, hence why I avoided her for our whole six months of this ridiculous marriage.
‘Go check, see if our wife left.’ My wolf whined in my head. He seemed upset just thinking about her leaving. It wasn’t as if she was our mate. I refused to mark her on our wedding day, like most wolves do. The Goddess wouldn’t mate the strongest Alpha to a weak pathetic human, and I didn’t want my fated mate to think I would betray her by marking someone else. I sleep around, satisfying my primal needs, I am sure she has as well. Most wolves weren’t virgins as soon as they received their wolf.
“I have to excuse myself; unforeseen circumstances have occurred at my residents.” I said gruffly, untangling myself from the red headed model wrapped around my body. She whined about me leaving and I knew I was going to punish that little human when I got there.
My wolf has been off since we married that little human, acting like s*x didn’t appeal to him anymore. All he wanted was that human. I had to tell him multiple times that ‘our wife’ wasn’t our Goddess given mate and he shouldn’t be fanboying over her. During the six months of marriage, I have only seen her once, talked to her now... twice and never touched her. I wanted her to know how much I hated being forced into this marriage. I flaunted the girls around, ignored her very existence, and made sure she saw how much I despised her every time I saw her glancing out the window, looking at me.
I made it home in record time, slamming the front door of my home open. The home I promised myself to never enter again after I married that pathetic little human. Damn it, she made me betray myself. I growled in frustration, feeling my anger build as I walked through the house. I slammed my wife’s office door open, scaring the s**t out of Judy. I tried reeling my anger in slightly, not trying to hurt or scare the woman who helped raise me.
“Where is she?” I gritted out as calmly as I could, as I glanced around the room. The whole room was organized, nothing on the desk but a stapled together packet. I didn’t see her, and her scent seemed to be fading. She must be in her room. I turned around, about to head out of the office when Judy’s soft voice stopped me.
“You won’t find her there either. You will find that she took everything that belonged to her, nothing that you ever got her was taken. She is gone Millenium and she isn’t coming back. These papers are the divorce decree. Just need you to sign them and it will be all official.” Judy’s tears ran down her face before she got up and left. I felt how disappointed and displeased she was. That stupid human caused this. I banged my fist on the table before slumping down in Avalena’s chair.
‘No, you caused this.’ My wolf growled in pain before he howled, as if he lost something precious to him. Silence, that’s all I hear now. Nothing else. He seemed to just be... gone.
I looked through the paperwork, she didn’t ask for anything. She wanted nothing from me, no money, no tie to my name, no job... nothing at all. Just to apparently be free from this marriage. Someone busted through the door, causing my Alpha instincts to kick in. I was in a crouched position, ready for an attack, when I realized it was just my mother. I slumped back into the chair, curiously wondering why my mother was barging into my wife’s office all pissed off. Had Avalena done something to them? My blood boiled from just the thought.
My father trailed behind her, seemingly trying to calm her down. “Sweetie, I am sure this is all a misunderstanding. Let’s take a breath and just calm down for a second.”
I have never seen my mother in this kind of rage before. Normally my father’s soothing voice and touch calmed my mother down instantly. Father glanced at me pleadingly and I knew he was asking me for help. How was I supposed to help when I didn’t know why she was this upset.
“Mother, I am sure whatever Avalena did we can work through. Let’s just talk about it calmly.” I spoke softly, trying to make her mother's instincts kick in. All my words did was make her anger worse, I am sure of it. I felt the fury rolling off her in waves, as her face turned a bright red. She looked like she was about to explode. What the hell could have Avalena done to piss off my mother this much? My mother and father have always loved her, not that I understood why.
“HER NAME IS AVA; SHE GOES BY AVA. IF YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO FLAUNT WOMEN AROUND, KISSING THEM ON TELEVISION AND CONSTANTLY BETRAYING HER, THEN THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS CALL HER BY THE NAME SHE LIKES. WHAT THE HECK DID YOU DO MILLENIUM? HOW COULD YOU HURT HER TO THIS POINT? HOW COULD YOU ALLOW HER TO TAKE OFF AND LEAVE?” Mother broke down in tears, her rage seemingly gone for now. Father caught her in his arm, as her knees went weak. My mother looks broken and all I could think of was how that little human up and ruined our life.
“This is not Ava’s fault son.” Father said sternly, “This is completely and utterly on you. We are disappointed in your behavior son and right now we only hope Ava is alright.”
“I am sure she went home to her parents, it's not like she asked for any money or took any with her for that matter.” I said nonchalantly. She would be fine, coddled back in her fake parents' arms.
Mother glared up at me, she seemed full of energy all over again. Great. “How dare you speak as if she insulted you. She was an amazing Luna, dealt with all the problems while you were off sticking you d**k in anything that moved. She figured out solutions to problems you had been working on for months before she came into the picture. Then she leaves because of your betrayal and didn’t take anything from you, no money, no possessions and not half the pack like the prenuptial agreement stated. She didn’t go back to her parents, didn’t even inform them of the divorce or her leaving. She is out there, by herself as the tyrant vampire King is stomping around looking for a hidden weapon.”
“Shhh sweetie, it will be alright. We will send search parties out and her parents are too. You heard them, they are probably already out there searching. We will find her and not let anyone at all hurt her, not even the vampire King. Just calm down for me. Ava wouldn’t want to ever see you in this state.” Father reassured my mother. I was staring at them in shock, couldn’t get the pass where I realized she didn’t take a single thing agreed upon in the pre-marriage write up. Half my company, half my money and half my pack were hers if I screwed up at all and she saw the need to divorce me. She left but didn’t go to her parents, she was out alone. Weak and alone. Goddess, if she died her parents and my parents would never forgive me.
Fuck, this little human was becoming more of a headache than she has been within the six months of marriage. I guess we are technically still married until I sign these papers. I sighed in frustration as I dropped my head into my hands. I heard the door open and shut, making me conclude that mother and father left the room.
‘Wolf, are you still not talking to me? Are you there?’ I thought to my wolf, hoping for a response. My mind felt empty, but I knew he had to be in there somewhere. I guess he was still refusing to talk to me, all because of that human. I sneered in disgust, who cares about a little human none of us are even related to.
The door banged open, again. I sighed, I just wanted to be left alone. I smelt my father, deciding I didn’t need to raise my head. Maybe he would just leave. Another smell mixed with his and it definitely wasn’t my mother.
“I laid your mother down in Ava’s room. Her scent and Elena are calming her down. You know she was right though son. What you did to that poor girl was unacceptable and to think she put up with it for six months. It’s sad really.” Father sighed out, disappointment lacing his words. I looked up, father and Alpha Jud were looking at me in disappointment, displeasure and frustration. Well, seems I was going to have to deal with two pissed off Alphas while my wolf decided to hide his presence.
“Who is leading your packs search teams if you both are here?” I asked Alpha Jud, ignoring my father for now. I hated disappointing my parents. Everything I did made them proud, well until I married Avalena that is. Nothing but disappointment seemed to follow after that dreadful day.
“My son, Dante. You know, Ava’s overly protective brother. Boy, you better hope we find our daughter, or you are going to answer to the council.” Alpha Jud threatened, though I knew it wasn’t a threat, more a promise.
“We will find her my friend.” Father reassured him as he patted his shoulder. He turned to me, sniffing a couple of times. “Where is your wolf? Why don’t I sense him?”
Now I had to explain to him how stupid my wolf is, “He decided he isn’t talking to me or helping me until I find the stupid little human and apologize for betraying her and treating her like she was nothing. Dumbass wolf.”
Father and Alpha Jud growled at me, crouching as if I was a threat. Did these two finally go insane?
“Speak of my daughter like that again and I will kill you.” Alpha Jud growled in a threatening tone.
“How dare you speak about Ava that way; she has done so much for this pack and is one amazing Luna.” Father growled; he didn’t seem like he would rip my head off but maybe take a few bites out of me so he could teach me a lesson. Goddess help me.
“How about you two go and assemble some trackers. Have them sniff out her room and start looking at our neighboring packs and rogue territory.” I said, trying to get them both off my back. I hopefully will be able to get out of searching as well.
“Oh no you don’t. You will be coming with us Millenium. You got her into this mess, you will get her out of it and before the vampire King comes across her.” Father growled as he grabbed my ear, dragging me out of Avalena’s office. I would be better off if I appeased my parents and made them think I would do anything to bring her back. I shook my father off me, straightening my clothes out so the pack didn’t witness my father trying to drag me into finding their Luna. They all seemed to worship the ground she walked on, even though she was only human. I didn’t understand how my pack could accept a human as a Luna and not fear for their lives. How would she protect them from rogues? Rogues were crazed wolves who left their packs to be alone. Slowly losing their minds to their wolves and making them have an extremely high blood lust. Anything that moved, they killed. How would she fight off vampires if they attacked the pack? She couldn’t defend the pack and the wolves needed their Luna and Alpha strong.
‘Listen up, announcement at the town center. All attendance is required, other than children and elderly.’ I sent a mind link out to the whole pack as I headed to the podium in the town center. Time to satisfy my mother and father’s anger.
“Welcome pack members, thank you for coming on such short notice. Your Luna seems to have gone missing; I need your help in finding her. I would like ten groups of ten. At least three trackers in each group and then the rest may be warriors. I will not force anyone beyond pack grounds if they do not feel comfortable or do not want to search for their Luna. Please let me know who will be joining the search party and I will separate you into the appropriate groups.” I spoke out to the pack. I exited off the stage, moving to the side of the grassy area. To my surprise everyone lined up to help search for their Luna. What the hell did this girl do? Have them under a spell?
I made the ten groups and told the rest of the members they would need to stay behind to protect the pack grounds. They tried to protest but I held up my hand to silence them. Before I could say anything, my father decided to speak out. “Luna Ava would love every single one of you for wanting to help the pack by searching for her. Though she would also tell you all that the pack can’t function without you. Our lands are to be protected, our pups are to stay safe, because if anything would happen to us, the pups are our future.”
The whole crowd cheered, “LUNA, LUNA, LUNA.” She said that to them? Told them that? I never knew she could say such inspiring words.
‘That’s because you never paid attention or tried to get to know our wife. You may have liked her yourself if you just watched her for one day.’ My wolf said in annoyance.
‘Welcome back buddy.’ I thought back to him. I was honestly glad I could hear from him again, gave me quite a scare for a minute there. My wolf grumbled at my response, seeming like he still wasn’t happy. I knew he wanted our wife; he has for the last six months. I just didn’t understand why. It wasn’t like she was our mate or anything. Our wolves are only supposed to want our mate, but mine seemed to not care about that aspect.
“Thank you, son.” Father patted me on the back in appreciation before stalking off with Avalena’s father. They seemed to be heading back to the house, probably checking on their mates. I couldn’t wait to find mine, but instead I was going to be out searching for this useless human everyone seemed to love so much.
