Finally pulling away from the hug.
“Are you okay? Why are you so cold? Did something terrible happen? Where is everyone else? Why didn’t you see me before leaving?” I threw those questions at him as I searched his body for injury.
He chuckled.
“I’m fine. The weather was quite harsh last night and everyone else is safe too. The news came too soon and I couldn’t see you myself, didn’t you get my messa….?” He stopped and looked at me.
“What’s wrong?” He asked. I had noticed a nasty gash across his brows, it was quite deep and it was taking time to heal.
