Schulberg looked at the other three men. “All right, so we’ve psychoanalyzed Vince and we know why he’s doing all this. The question is, what can we do to stop him? We’ve got Forsch coming here tomorrow from the FCC. If word of this gets out, he’ll close down the station permanently.”
“Worse than that,” DeLong said. “There are plenty of people who distrust the entire Dream industry. They could use this as an excuse to shut everything down.”
“I don’t think there’s any way we can prevent people from knowing about it,” Wayne said. “Even if we stopped Vince this second, we couldn’t go into all those minds and erase what they’ve already experienced—and some of it’s pretty horrifying.”
