Chapter 6 The scheduling of staff meetings was always a delicate compromise at a Dream broadcasting studio. The “talent,” the Dreamers, were of necessity late-night people. Even when they weren’t working that particular night, they tried to keep to a nocturnal schedule; working during the day some of the time and at night the rest of the time could have dire consequences for body and mind. The Dreamers had to be pampered; it was upon their shoulders that the whole enterprise rested. The administrative staff, on the other hand, preferred the normal business hours of eight to five. The day-to-day operations of a business had to be in tune with all the other businesses in the city, or nothing would ever get accomplished.
