Laurel left the wedding disappointed, but not surprised. Instead, she was full of fury and barely kept her pace and stride as dignified as possible, but when her door closed behind her, she screamed in anger. She should have never accepted Adolph's invitation. If she wanted to repay his favor, she could have chosen to do something else!
