Chapter 20: Hooked Dugan followed me to the front stoop and under its small overhang, which barely protected our close bodies from the pouring rain. Face to face with the man, looking him in the eyes, I asked, “What are you doing here?” “I wanted to see you.” “But this is my house. I live here.” I sounded frazzled and ridiculous, but didn’t care that he wanted to see me.
