They used Elk’s Ridge as a center point and traveled in a widening circle around it. Try as Nick might to convince himself it was nothing more than his mind wanting to replay the kelbit’s attack whenever he slept, he couldn’t get past the fact that it might have a mate and that mate might be after them.
