"How could you Octavius?" My voice raging as I stare at Octavius on the holy grounds. "How could you?" I speak to him again since I didn't get a response from him earlier.
"What is all these about? What happened out there?" Mother's voice coming through as she walks closer to us bringing my hot gaze off Octavius.
Yes, he may be years older and experienced than I am, but it gives no such reason for the tragedy that happened today.
"Would somebody explain to me, why The chosen is being brought back unconscious and why you all look like this?" Mother in her commanding tone asks, and as the commander in chief of Cyrus, she requires an answer.
"Articus." I look at mother. "Articus killed her Athena's grandmother, whilst Octavius watched when he could have clearly prevented such a tragedy from happening, yet he..."
"There was nothing I could do!" Octavius voice cuts me off as the level of his tone shakes the grounds. "Do you think that was all I said about the vision?" Octavius speaks.
"What do you mean by that Octavius!" Mother now in rage questioning him.
"If I had told you all what was to come, one of you would have prevented it from happening, especially you, Orion." Octavius speaks as I stare at him in horror.
"You wanted this to happen?" I ask him in disbelieve.
"Is this a joke you are playing Octavius?" Mother asks him.
"Would I dare play such a joke?" Octavius answers with a question. "There are many things you do not understand. Yes, maybe when you learn of my reason for doing so, it may be unreasonable to you." Octavius replies.
"Then let us be the judge of that. I ask one more time Octavius, what is it you saw?" Mother asks gazing at Octavius.
"In order for Atheena to be able to save Cyrus, she needs to be reborn. How a fool I was to think we could play tricks with nature, and get our way by letting her grandmother live, but if I had done that we would have no chosen one, and Atheena's blood would he the one spilled and not her grandmother." Octavius explains.
"And why didn't you tell us this before?" Mother inquires.
"Because if I had, it wouldn't have been possible." Octavius adds while I only scoff.
"To hell with any of your visions Octavius." I speak making mother stare at me in perplexity.
"Orion!" She calls my name.
"Why don't you all put yourselves in her shoes, would you still trust anyone who had watched your own family get killed in front of you, when clearly they were people who could do something about it, but just watched? Tell me, who would be on such a side?" I ask them.
"Then would you have preferred to loose her instead..."
"We have already lost her!" I speak as a matter of fact. "It is just a matter of time for her to wake up and decide to leave knowing how we stood and did nothing. She called your name Octavius, she begged of you or didn't you see the need in her eyes?" I ask him.
"Orion!" Octavius yells my name as that takes me back seeing the grounds trembling tremendously. "Do not dare say things to me that I am not! Do you think it was my wish to watch her plead to me and couldn't do nothing? Do you think it was also my wish to watch her eyes fall away from me in disappointment, do you?" Octavius asks me, but I remain silent.
"If I had dared interfered in such, the repercussion would be something none of us would be able handle, and yet you speak of such to me." Octavius speaks with hurt burning through his eyes.
"When you mean reborn, what exactly do you mean?" Mother suspends whatever it is we're arguing about, while she asks octavius.
"I mean she would be more powerful than the powers of ten warlocks combined, when she wakes." Octavius answers as the tone of his voice sends shivers done my spine.
"So what do we do now? How do we keep her with us, because orion is right she would have no reason of seeing us with good anymore." Mother asks.
"We give her whatever it is she wants."
-------------
I stare at the waters, standing by a bridge called 'The lovers bridge', as mundanes pass through effortlessly. A smile cascade my lips recalling when last I came here and who I came here with.
Isabella.
How I miss her, how I miss her touch, her smile and everything she did. Its funny how life can be, getting you at what you hold dearly, and not giving a s**t about it.
Just like Atheena, just like what happened to her grandmother.
I do not think I could ever understand Octavius reasons for doing what he did, as with this comes a new chapter to everything we've worked for, because who says Atheena may want anything from us? After all, Octavius says her powers would be that of ten warlocks combined.
"I don't know why I thought I would find you here." My gaze turns to the side hearing a familiar voice close to me.
"What are you doing her Aurelia?" I ask my sister.
"Checking up on my brother." She says with a smile before I look away from her.
"How did you find me?" I ask her interested to know.
"That's a secret for me to know." She tells me while I chuckle lightly.
"Let me guess, Octavius." I speak clearly taking her by surprise.
"How did you know?" Aurelia asks me perplexed while I scoff.
"Even if you wanted to hide it from everyone, but not from me." I turn to her. "I know about your affairs with Octavius." I tell her as with that, it brings a look of shock and embarrassment to her.
"Its not what you..."
"It doesn't matter what I think Lia, but your happiness. Do what makes you happy, cherish whatever moments you can." I tell Aurelia with sincerity and pain in my eyes where as Aurelia stays silent after my statement.
"You see Isabella in her right, don't you?" Aurelia asks me as my gaze becomes hard knowing I have refused to accept it. "You see Isabella in Atheena." Aurelia states this time and not a question, making me turn my gaze away from her.
"I see it too." She says as my gaze returns back. "And because of that you fear that history may repeat itself and you may loose her just..."
"No...no... No that..."
"Yes Orion, you feel you may loose her too. I'm not saying you love her, but you can not deny the resemblance they carry, and no one is going to blame you for seeing it that way too." Aurelia cuts me off telling me.
"I do not want anyone to die again in the hands of Articus. He has caused me so much pain that any additional might drive me off the edge Lia." I confess finally letting my emotions free.
"And you won't... You won't.."
"Who is to say Lia?" I cut her off. "Now that Atheena is reborn, we do not know what awaits us at that, what if she changes into a different person than we thought we knew...but well we didn't even know her...or I didn't even try to because I was so conceited in my emotions of not wanting to see the resemblance between them, that I shut everything out, including pushing her to this point where she felt she had no one, making her face Articus alone.
I did that Aurelia...I caused this." I tell Lia as she only stares at me in pain.
"You can not control everything that happens orion. It is not your fault and though you had been there or not, fate would take course, you should know that." Lia tells me.
"Cut yourself some slack Orion, let yourself feel, relieve the burden you're carrying and be the Orion we knew you to be. The one who consoled us when things were hard, the one who joked with us to the fullest, the one who didn't take life too hard and feel the world was against him. Let yourself free brother, please." Lia tells me, as at her words I begin to see all the hurt I must have caused them by changing.
I run a hand through my face, as my lips tremble with much words to say but less voices to speak out. "I...I..." I begin to say when my phone rings.
"Who is it?" Aurelia asks.
"Ares." I inform her seeing my brother calling before picking.
"Ares," I call after picking the call.
"Atheena is awake, brother." Ares voice comes through as my eyes widen meeting with that of Aurelia.
She is awake.
