Johnny
“So, are you ready to pursue some of your ladies here?” I asked Levi while we were putting our clothes away.
“Nah, I will focus on my training, and of course I have to focus on my studies. If I don’t do that, mom and dad will stop my allowance, and I will not be hearing the end of it, so I have to show them I have been applying myself to those boring law lectures,” he replied.
We kept putting our belongings away, when I had the urge to see the girl my heart beats for.
She was such an angel and I loved her way of talking, so kind and so smart. Levi and I were flirts in High School, but when she started her freshman year, I couldn’t keep my eyes off her.
That girl had changed so much, of course she was still wearing her usual outfits which I loved seeing her on, but her maturity was there and I just wanted to be man enough for her.
“Well, dude. I’m going to take a walk and check which lady I can score with,” I lied, making a small dance and he laughed his lungs out while waving goodbye.
I walked down the hall and arrived at her dorm room door. Taking a deep breath, I knocked on the door and I could hear excited chatter coming from inside.
“Who is it?” I heard that soft voice I loved so much.
“It’s me, Johnny,” I replied, taking a deep breath and smiling on the inside. She opened the door and there she was, standing so beautiful and innocent.
“Johnny, what are you doing here? Do you want my brother to kill you?” she asked, pulling me inside of the room.
“That’s why I gave him an excuse, so I could come see you. I’m really happy you were accepted here. Now I can see you everyday.”
Eva blushed and I leaned over to kiss her plump lips. I was in love with her in high school, but we kept our relationship a secret from Levi and if he found out, I don’t know what I would do or how he would react.
“Oh, this is my roommate, Sicily,” she said as we pulled away from our kiss.
“We have met each other, nice to see you again,” I said, extending my hand to shake hers.
“Nice to see you, Johnny. Is Mr. Grumpy Pants better now?” she asked, making me raise my eyebrows.
“Yes, he is. Why do you ask? Did he leave an impact on you?” I wiggled my eyebrows and she rolled her eyes as she scoffed.
“He made an impact all right,” she said, her sarcasm pouring out of her pores.
Eva smiled and grabbed me by the hand, asking her roommate if she didn’t mind that we hung up a bit here.
“Not at all. I was actually heading out to explore the campus since it’s still early. You two have a good time.”
She grabbed some keys and walked out, leaving us alone. Tempting, right? Well, you are wrong my dear readers, I always respected Eva and will always respect her. At least until she was ready.
“Do you want to watch a movie? We have the WiFi set up already and Netflix is up, so we can stream. I also brought some snacks from home so we could enjoy this,” she said, turning the TV on and putting the streaming app.
As we enjoyed the movie, a thought came to my mind.
“When are we telling Levi about us?” I asked and she stopped snacking on the popcorn to look at me with wide eyes.
“Do you have any idea what he would do to you? He will think you will cheat on me with someone else and not take me seriously.”
I took her in my arms and kissed her head. “I would never do that to you. You are everything to me and I am here to make you happy,” I assured her.
She shrugged her shoulder and looked back at the TV, thinking what she was going to say next.
“Well, I wouldn’t be mad. There are a lot of prettier girls out there that might catch your attention, and I wouldn’t blame you for wanting to be with them,” she said, an unshed tear appeared on the corner of her eyes, even noticeable from under her glasses.
I took them off and wiped the tear away before it fell down her cheek.
“There’s no one like you. I promise you, my nerdy princess.”
We heard a knock on the door and Eva looked at me with her eyes wide, nervous about Levi showing up out of nowhere.
“Didn’t your friend have keys to the room?”
“Maybe she doesn’t want to catch us doing anything inappropriate.”
I didn’t want to take any chances, so I hid inside her bathroom, while she went to open the door. I left the door open just a c***k so I could hear who was talking outside of the dorm room.
“Levi, what are you doing here? I thought you were taking a nap,” I could hear her say and I was hoping he didn’t want to come in while I was here.
“Have you seen Johnny?” he asked.
“No, why? You lost him again?” she asked and I was trying not to laugh or he would catch me.
“Just go, try to find him where all the girls hang out. He might be there.”
Ouch. It was true that I was a flirt back in high school, but she was the one I would always try to pursue. Levi being her brother, would not make it easy on us if he found out. She was his little sister and a treasure for him.
I heard the door close and walked out of the bathroom.
“I still think we should tell him about us,” I mentioned and she nodded, hugging herself, her fearful expression melting my heart. I rubbed her arms and kissed her nose, comforting her.
“Don’t worry. I’ll be there for you when we tell him.”
With one last kiss, I walked out of her room and headed towards mine. As soon as I walked in, Alexis, Levi’s ex-girlfriend was sitting on his bed.
I looked around, but didn’t see him.
“What are you doing here?” I asked and she cheerily got out of bed and extended her hand to shake with mine.
“Is that how you greet an old friend?” she replied.
“We are not friends, and I thought you weren’t his girlfriend anymore.”
“That’s because she’s not. She’s only a good friend,” Levi said, walking into the room with some snacks and sodas, probably from the beat up vending machine outside.
Knowing Levi, he was a big flirt and I was sure he had her there to have some fun, and I bet he was not expecting for me to return that soon.
“Where were you by the way? I went to look for you, and not even my sister had seen you.
I rubbed my neck and shook my head, trying to come up with an excuse.
“I was just walking around, clearing my mind,” I replied. I wanted to tell him about his sister and I, but I was going to respect her wishes. Until she was ready, we were keeping our relationship a secret.
