We Are Locked

Erin sighed with relief when she heard Will's car revved up from the outside. She was still tensed from the confrontation earlier, she didn't know how far will it go if Xander did not stand on her behalf. "Is he beating you up?" He asked in a serious tone like he is ready to murder her husband. "No, it was the first, or I don't know he is rarely home." She stated the fact. "The documents must be important for him to be riled up." He commented and started to fix the things in her room. "Let me fix it. Just leave me alone." She said, but Xander grabbed her arms with care and helped her sit on her bed. "You are still shaking. I will do it for you." He said and Erin just nods in agreement. Xander fixes her things with ease while Erin was watching her. "Why did my father hire you?" She asked. "It's too early to discuss with you, Mrs. Ferguson..." "Can you please just call me Erin? I don't think I can bear to hear my husband's last name next to my name," she cut him off. "Erin." He tested. "Better." She smiled at him and realized she was easy to give him that, so she looked the other way around. "Is there something going on that I don't know?" She asked thinking about what it could be. "It's too early to discuss it, but one thing is for sure, you can trust me." "The last thing I want to hear is that word. I rather want to feel it than said because the more you said it, the more I can't trust you." Erin already learned from the past. She trusted Maric Pacheco, her bodyguard that was hired by Will only to find out that he was up to something. The next thing she knew, Will accused her that they have an affair. Her father could have taken her side but the picture with him sleeping on the bed was one of the strong pieces of evidence Will slapped into her face. It was the time her drink was a spike, it was all too late to know that. There were also photographed as if they have an intimate conversation as they were smiling with each other. She fell into their trap and Maric is nowhere to be found after that. "I understand..." she was snapped back to reality. "But don't you need assurance especially now?" Xander pointed out and she found herself agreeing with him. "I wish it's really easy as said." Her comment. "Just give your father some time," Xander said as he dusted both of his hands at the side of his pants. "Thank you for earlier and saving my life last night," Erin said softly and Xander looked at her with tender if she wasn't wrong about it. One of her traits is to read people's behavior secretly. She is also not outspoken, her kindness often misunderstood that she is a shy person. Someone also commented that anyone could abuse her kindness -which Will already did. "It's my job." Xander's simple answer. "If you need anything, you may call me here." Xander then fished out something from his pocket. A post-it note with his number. "A wrote it earlier." He explained before she could ask him. Erin tried not to laugh. Who on earth would bring a post-it note with his number written on it? Well, Xander just did. Erin received the note with both of her hands and didn't say anything. She was left all alone staring at his writing and placed the note on the table. Later, Xander came again with the shopping bags they bought earlier. They didn't exchange words after that and only silence filled the room when she was left all alone again. Erin was more than happy to stay in her room in the remaining hours before the dinner and feels secure at the same that someone in the villa is after for her safety. She was torn to contact her father and decided that they could talk after dinner this coming Sunday when Will is no longer around. She can sense that something is up when she remembered how Will reacted earlier. What could be in those documents she threw earlier? Erin decided to look for it herself and went out of her room. She directly went to their storage room where their trashes are but the room was empty. Melinda, their stay out housekeeper must have taken it out already. Erin sighed in frustration knowing she was at a dead end. Xander then appeared in front of her when she was about to go out of the storage room. He was panting at the same time looking at her in relief. "I thought you are in life and death situation again." He said in between catching up his breath. "Well, I'm alive." She commented and they both jumped on their feet when the door was closed with a loud bang. Xander went on twisting the knob only to realized it was locked from the outside. Erin heard him muttered some faint curses before he could face her. "We are locked."
